Horrible. We evacuated from the hurricane in Asheville and my sweet corgi became very sick, I had to put her to sleep. Her cremains were returned in an ugly gross box along with a plastic bracelet from china. Completely awful after the trauma of what we have been through and losing my pet. Called to complain and zero compassion.
back in april, i unexpectedly lost the love of my life, my soul dog. she was my first dog and my best friend so this was a very very difficult time for us all, and CRVC recommended good shepherd to take care of her for us. the pricing is high which unfortunately is normal with this kind of thing but they did a lovely job. i was too torn up to even think about anything that was going to happen to her so i asked them to choose an urn for her and they chose a lovely wooden one with a nice flat top so i was able to have a friend sculpt a figure of her to attach. they gave me a nice big bag of hair clippings that are sealed shut so there’s no worry of spilling. my only complaint is that the clay paws are like air dry model magic, very light clay which is nice for an ornament for a tree but i was expecting a stone for the garden, especially for the price (i believe they were $25ish each and i got 3) thank you again, when the next time comes i’ll be using this business for the rest of my furry kids🖤
Wow! What a wonderful service that these people provide. On one of the worst days of our lives this company was there to help us with the loss of our little Sally (14 year old) kitty. They picked her up form our vet within 24 hours, took her to their facility, cremated her, within days brought her back to us in a beautiful carved wooden box, a death certificate and called us at every step of the way! The young lady who answers the phone was fantastic! Very gentle with us through the entire procedure. I would strongly recommend Good Sheppard Pet Service's to anyone!
On April 2, I lost my beloved Tyke, my almost 16-year-old labradoodle. Charleston Veterinary Referral Center worked with Good Shepherd to make the final arrangements for my beloved girl. I cannot say enough good things about the staff members that I spoke with, especially Jody. He was absolutely fantastic. I was able to bring my girl home by the following Wednesday, and on the Monday after her passing, my beautiful engraved necklace was ready, and Jody met me in Walterboro to personally deliver it to me. Professional, compassionate, and caring are just a few of the words that come to mind. I pray that I don't need them again anytime soon, but I would highly recommend them to anyone. My many thanks to Good Shepherd for the care you gave to my sweet Tyke.
I was given phone call when my pet was ready to be picked up, I was kept in the loop the whole time texts and calls. It also was very nicely wrapped I didn’t even want to open it. The necklace was hand delivered to my house as well which I thought was thoughtful. Overall great experience for the situation.
I’m not one to typically write a bad review but I feel this is necessary to hopefully spread awareness and prevent other families from having the same experience we did. We tragically lost our 5mo kitten and opted to have him cremated. The vet recommended the good shepherd and being new to the area we decided to go with it not really thinking much after being recommended by a vet. We called the next day to let the company know what extra products we’d like. Hair clipping, paw print, and clay paw print… we paid for the products and my first experience with this company was that they were extremely rude. You’d think they would show extra compassion to families who clearly just experienced loss. But again we just wanted this experience to be over and we expected to receive all the products we paid for considering that’s their job…. A week goes by and not only did we NOT receive a call that our kitten had been picked up by GS but we also were missing his hair clippings. I proceeded to call the company assuming that it maybe got left behind. Well for the next three weeks I called and was told they would call me back… which they never did… only to FINALLY speak to someone three weeks later to hear they have lost his hair clippings. All we got was “sorry we lost them” and an offer to refund us for OUR kittens hair… I understand people make mistakes but this is something we can never get back and something we trusted the good shepherd to do for us in our time of grieving. Their services were not cheap and clearly just thrown together. Once I was told the hair clippings were lost I spoke to a manager who was very kind and empathetic toward our situation which we appreciated but I still feel this mistake never should have happened and I highly recommend going somewhere else that might be more compassionate and take better care of your pet. This is not something we can get back and is truly unacceptable. Heartbroken would be an understatement. At the end of the day they did what they could to make the situation right but in reality nothing can make the situation right and this company messed up something that couldn’t afford to be messed up. Bring your pets somewhere else.
