Karma has had a 5-paw experience every time she comes to FLAC! Ally & Deborah are both wonderful with excellent customer service. Both Dr. Lewis & Dr. Mac are very personable and make our pup’s visits stress-free. We are so grateful to have found y’all! Thank you to the entire staff.
We have been going to Dr Small for over 2 decades - he has always taken excellent care of my fur-babies. We recently had to let our ShihPoo Papito rest in sleep. Dr Maza & Tech Jonny were both compassionate, supportive & informative throughout the visit. They made his final vet visit a honorable one. Debra also made sure we had what we needed to make Papito comfortable. I am grateful for the team at FLAC.
Back in October I had brought my sweet Shih Tzu Quincy in so that he could establish care with FLAC. I had already brought my Aussie in twice, and wanted to make sure my 13 year old shih tzu has a vet. When we visited then I made it VERY CLEAR that if something was to come up that required surgery or pain management that I would not be moving forward with it as Quincy was moving into issues with his renal system. When I visited they said Quincy was in great shape which surprised me because I felt what I thought was a small tumor under his neck. I also stressed back in October that he was loosing weight rapidly and had lost most of his hair. They told me I needed bloodwork to fix it and I said I would rather him spend the last few months of his life happy, but they refused to treat him without $800 in bloodwork. I said that I would not go forward with that and as soon as he showed any signs of pain or hygiene issues I would make the decision to euthanize him. I believed he was in kidney failure as a previous vet had diagnosed him with that. Flash forward to last Tuesday and I set up an appt on Thursday as he seemed to be in immense pain. From Tuesday to Thursday he rapidly declined, lost almost all of his hair and was developing skin lesions that were bursting open and infected. He was chewing on his paws as if his body was attacking him and he could not rest. He was also very confused and was getting lost in our home. I called the vet and let them know what we would be putting him to sleep because I refused to let him suffer. We were also planning on moving in 3 weeks and I didn’t think he would make it through the move. The vet agreed and asked me about my choice on cremation, urn, and making a paw print. That afternoon at 4 they said they had our room ready. I was so sad and distraught. It seemed as if everything was ready to go and Quincy could finally get some rest. Then the vet came in and made me feel like a complete a-hole. He told me he could fix the dog and not me and that my dog “had a lot of life left in his little eyes”. I’m sorry but I’ve worked from home for the last 6 years and I have never done my dog wrong or left his side. The past two years I have paid over $10K to find out what was wrong with Quincy and nothing ever came of it. He told me he did not feel comfortable euthanizing my dog and would not provide meds without bloodwork. Not even pain meds!!! He tried to tell me he did not have cushings disease just a hormonal imbalance. I walked out of the vet in tears. I know my pup and he was suffering. He is a very brave little man and does not show pain, but I know how bad he got. Well what do I know? I know he got so bad over the next 24 hours that I had to call an emergency euthanasia because his skin was literally falling off. His tumor grew on his neck and he could no longer eat or drink. Because this vet didn’t want to listen or help me, I got the privilege of watching my dog suffer until I could find someone that had time to help. I am so disgusted by FLAC. No one ever called to check on me, no one called me back, no one even helped me out to my car with my dying dog. I asked the manager to call me today so I can explain what happened to me. No one ever called so I decided to post a 1 star review. I’m also posting pictures to show the difference in my dog in 5 months. He was clearly in his final days. I hope this never happens to anyone else. I recommend avoiding this vet at all costs.
I've had pets cared for with forest lakes for over 30 years. You feel like family here. Debbie ( the British Lady) has been a pleasure to work with as well as the rest of the team. This visit was for us to help one of our furries cross the rainbow bridge 😭 They were supportive through out this difficult time. THANK YOU!
WOW!!! Amazing people. The quality of care cannot be matched and I have a senior pet who has been to the ER and other Doctors. The compassion and kindness and medical knowledge is amazing. The Doctors, Techs, front desk, groomers, office manager all helped make this an easier than expected experience for me and my nervous senior pet. Ashley and Penny White
The staff was Very compassionate when my beloved dog Brown passed last May (2023). Now with the new pup, Knox we have been welcomed by the friendly staff here. I have Always had a positive experience with the clinic and staff since 2013.
