My husband and I adopted two cats from here last summer. I will say, initially getting a visit set up was probably the biggest issue (which wasn’t even really an issue, just took a while to coordinate with them). Took a while to hear back from them, but from our understanding of everything they said, they are solely volunteer ran. I believe an appointment was required (not sure if that’s still the case). We adopted two cats we saw on their site ahead of time. We visited a few cat rooms while there and really appreciated how kind and welcoming the staff were. They gave us lots of great information and helped us get everything in order as far as paperwork to take to a veterinarian for the cats when needed, etc.. One cat we had specifically asked about seeing was a foster cat and the foster mom brought her in and she was so kind as well! I wish I could remember her name. She said she had LOTS of foster cats and she was just so sweet! The rescue also contacted us at least three times to follow up with how our cats were adjusting to life after being adopted. Our experience with HEA was very pleasant and we would highly recommend them to anyone in the greater NE Wisconsin area to go and check it out! Also, it was a very well-kept facility.
My daughter and I really enjoyed adopting our kitten from here the whole process was great from start to finish. Everyone was very nice and helpful. You can tell staff really cares about the animals which is awesome especially because they stress bringing the animal back if for some reason down the line you can't have them anymore. Which definitely will not be the case here LOL but it's nice to have that option for people who need it. Thank you so much happily ever after for helping to get these animals into good homes we will definitely be back!
A+ rating from me. They watched for the size of the dog we wanted. Made sure they checked our references. I like knowing they care about who's adopting their dogs. Meet and greet room was cool. Super friendly staff. Bring a collar, though, if you plan on adopting a dog. They do sell them for 10 bucks if you don't. We love our new pupper and are very happy w happily ever after in every way.
Perfect place to find a pet in need of a furever home. No kill shelter helping thousands of dogs and cats. Annual Hour of Love fundraiser gives people the chance to cuddle and raise funds to save more lives.
Adopted our super sweet boy from there a couple weeks ago and our experience was amazing! Staff/Volunteers were very compassionate about the animals, friendly, and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back for one of their dogs in the future :)
We just adopted our dog today!!! We are so excited and the process was so smooth! This is our third dog we’ve adopted and all at different places, this is by far the cleanest and most organized facility I’ve ever seen! I would highly recommend HEA to anyone looking for a fur baby ❤️
