The officers are very friendly and obviously care about animals, but their front desk staff is rude, unhelpful, and will lie to you about the rules and stipulations of their services just to get you out of their hair. Called to ask them to pick up an aggressive cat that our neighbors abandoned. We told them he had been on our front porch for three days and wouldnt eat, and that he was attacking us every time we left our house. The dispatcher told us it doesnt matter unless hes sick, and that they wont take him. It took three separate calls and consulting other more humane rescue services to discover that they will take him, and even then they said we have to trap him ourselves. On other occasions we called to have strays rescued the receptionist told us we might never be able to adopt if we turn him in, only for the officer to tell us thats completely false and theres no reason the dispatcher should have said that. As i said before the officers are nothing short of heros, but whoever is hiring and training their dispatch teams is obviously completely incompetent and doesnt seem to have any care for the wellbeing of the animals they deal with

My cat Lucy Ann disappeared for a few days and I was worried to death a looked for her everywhere constantly and when I found her she had a badly broken leg. We took her to a few vets and my friend spent $1300 on her and she had a brace on her leg. We doted over her. A few days later on September 19 2023 when I returned home Washoe County Animal Control was at my residence and had Lucy in the truck! I was irate and confused! Matt Simpson (a health worker ,not animal control rudely said "$3000 or you will never see your cat again"! I didn't know what to say! I couldn't believe what was happening! They left with my friend! I have since emailed and texted and called animal control with photos and very bill proving it's my cat when I noticed that the homeowner had filled out a surrender form! They still won't give her back even though I have proved that I'm the owner! I have filed a lawsuit and a police report. They have filed for a dismissal I don't think so! Why won't they give me my cat back? This is rediculois , the Nazis all over again! What's wrong with these jerks?

Very disappointed in there actions. Three of us neighbors complained about a nuisance barking dog, file a complaint, filled out statements, filled out there logs, but they wouldn't do anything about it,more or less denied our requests. Plus someone name Robert a field supervisor told us they could fine the owner of the animal, his remarks where it would be a fine just like a speeding ticket,HUH a speeding ticket like if you get a ticket for speeding you would never speed again, yeah right..so you have all these ordinances and NV laws regarding animal issues but you do not enforce them...

I had a dying then dead young coyote on my fence line. Even though it didnt start off promising, they came through. I waited all day for someone to come out. They said someone came out but I never saw anyone and never got a call. Dispatch put another order in and the field supervisor Heidi came through in a timely manner! She came in and bagged the thing and was on her way in a matter of minutes! Thank you for your service! I appreciate it!

Last Saturday, around 9:30 am, 01/14/23, I called dispatch, Cathy answered. I told her my dog is stuck under the closet outside of my house. She just dismisses me right away and says we can't go under the house. I told her, you don't have to. It's an attached building and she got stuck underneath. Now, Jeannie is half husky/ half Lab. She can't move unless you dig a little. I told her I had 3 strokes and handicap and I can't do it. And she still doesn't understand and won't help me. Had to call 911 and told them animal dispatch won't help me. My dog been there almost 2 hours. The firemen came and dug a little. She can't go out where she dug from, even the fireman tried. Thank goodness for those firemen, our heroes! They got her out, she's ok now. Over the years, I paid so much money for dog licenses, I had 6 dogs, now I only have 3. The other 3 died. And I also donate to Humane Society. The one time I needed their help and they're not there. All I can say is, goodbye donations!

Call before you go to make sure they are open. Took time off work, drove 20 minutes to get there to find out they were closed all afternoon for team-building
