Description The Atlanta Humane Society is a no-kill shelter providing sheltering and adoption, veterinary care, and community outreach to the Atlanta Metro. As one of the oldest charities in Atlanta, Georgia we have been caring for our community and animals for almost 150 years. We believe the relationship between humans and animals has deep significance, and we call on our city and each other to take action. Together, we put up a united front against cruelty, neglect, and displacement. With a heart to better lives, we connect homeless animals with good homes, we provide neglected animals with safe spaces, and we uplift our community by instilling compassion.

The staff was so kind and helpful. They let us look around until we were ready. A lot less confusing to navigate than other shelters as welll. We love Moo (previously nathan)!! 🤍🐮🐈‍⬛

The humane society is amazing. I volunteer here and help mostly with dog/puppy adoptions. From the first day of orientation the staff was very knowledgeable and personable. I’ve never had a dog before and wanted to learn more before coming pet owner. They are very understanding and willing to teach those like me who have no experience. As a volunteer I would HIGHLY recommend. As a person looking for a pet, this place is still amazing. They offer support to and ample information to pet parents. They really work hard to set the owners and pets up for success.

Got my kitten there a few months back. They knew a lot about the temperament and unique personalities of many of their animals. The adoption included a vet follow up visit. The facility was clean and staff was very friendly.

Great place! Love the staff and all the animals. Me and my fiancé went down there a while ago and met the dogs and cats.

Wonderful experience! The facility is clean and well-maintained allowing you to see all the available dogs. The volunteers and workers are very helpful and tell you everything they know about walking and playing with them. I came home with a new fur baby.

This is a great kennel. The facilities are very clean and modern. The staff is extremely helpful. We found our forever furry friend and were able to take her home the same day. The humane society provided full medical records. Our puppers was vaccinated and said, microchipped and ready to go. There was a special for all animals over 6 months old. The Humane Society provided a 30 day free trial for MetLife pet insurance. There is also a voucher to handle any kennel related illnesses for the first 30 days. They really do a great job setting up new pet owners for success. The Humane Society also provides resources and other support to help the pet and owner adapt to their new normal. Our new dog, Kiva, is a wonderful addition to our home. We were exceptionally lucky to be able to find our new family member.
