I had a great experience interacting with the staff at the Humane Society of Memphis. They assisted me with a stray dog that had been staying in my backyard for a day or so during the most recent storm. I was not able to keep the Stray because I have two other dogs, and it just wouldn't have been ideal. The staff were very friendly. Easy to talk to and communicate with. They were very helpful, and I was able to communicate with them via phone and email they responded quickly and were very knowledgeable and attentive. They also showed genuine care and interest and that, above all, made the experience great. I highly recommend using the services that the Humane Society of Memphis provides, and I look forward to working with them for pet assistance or pet needs in the future.

The Humane Society of Memphis & SC gave me one of the most precious friendships I could ever have. Benedict was one of a kind and I don’t think he would’ve been who he was if it weren’t for them. All of the staff are supportive and friendly. They care about the animals and it shows. I will forever be grateful for them. Update: The second time adopting here! We adopted a dog (black dog in pics) from HSMSC and he is wonderful! I truly love the staff there and the care they provide for these animals.

These animals are all very well cared for. They are played with and loved. The cages are immaculate. A very good place to find a pet rather than a breeder

One day in ‘09, I went to HS to surrender a stray Rottie that appeared in my yard w/terribly infected eyes. The fellow at the desk had a teeny dog in his lap in a blanket they had received the day before. He started his speech asking me if I wanted to foster the dog, he had a permanently luxated knee cap, he was a pale white with soft grey ears, & was so precious, so of course I relented. He said all I needed to do was feed him, love him, & take him to any vet appointments he needed. They provided the food, etc. The tiny dog only weighed 3 pounds!! I lived across the cove from my parents at that time, & they babysat during the day and it worked out great! I adopted him, of course, & named him Buddy. Many years later, he had two separate surgeries on different limbs and had several teeth pulled. (To clarify, the HS pays for any vet treatment during the foster period only. By the time of these surgeries I had already adopted him.) He was the sweetest thing and kept my Mother company after Daddy died and he outlived Mama by one month, passing away from kidney problems & other issues in March of ‘22. They were totally dependable and did everything they promised.

The best place ever for pets waiting for their forever homes. They have a veterinarian on staff which gives added piece of mind. Extreme care is given to each and every pet to make sure they are comfortable and well cared for. Their health and well being are closely monitored.

We started going here for vet visits and upkeep shots for both of our dogs. I can't begin to explain how amazing this place is. The staff is just incredible. I was there when someone brought in an emergency dog who had just had an accident. I won't go into details. Just know, these people love these animals so very much. Our family appreciate them and all their hard work!
