We found 4 large dogs running around . Two limping and one was Emaciated I had mange an open wounds . We called animal control and we were told to call 911 for an officer to come out to verify we had dogs . Then 3 dogs ran off and we had to call 911 again to tell them this and that we are taking the remaining dog to our home . They said call 911 whe you get to your home . Do 5 hours later an officer comes out to call animal control to get out here they have a dog . I later located the badly hurt dog and again was told call 911 . When calling animal control they said it’s after 5 we can take a message and call you tomorrow. It was only 4 . Now we are waiting on animal control because the officer told them to come out here . This animal control needs to do a better job because it’s not 911’s job to handle wounded dogs or a pack of dogs smack in the middle of a very Busy road . First few pictures are of the badly needed dog that needed medical attention ASAP . The other was the dog we did catch . She’s hurt , super hungry and thirsty too . Animal control lady came out . She was very nice and stated what we were told was wrong . She has come out 3 other times for other dogs and was very nice and understanding. We are now filing a report against the owner and neglected of her dogs.

I just called to try to see if there is a fine attached to our “notice of violation”. As the lack of information on said notice states nothing of the sorts. I called an hour and a half before they closed. After being on hold, they transferred me. Put me on hold again. And hung up on me. 45 minute process. After calling them back. She proceeded to cut me off and said we are closed at 4:15. I just called for some information.

They are impossible to get ahold of. For 3 months I have called because an aggressive Rottweiler comes from my neighbors yard into my yard. It has chased me, my mother n law, and my niece and nephew into my own home multiple times. This total disregard of anyone safety is crazy. I will not wait for anyone to be attacked by this dog. They need to do their jobs.

How am I supposed to ask for advice or make a report about about my neighbors dog, if they don’t answer the phone during business hours? My neighbors dogs are able to get through they fence, they attacked my dog once and they still refuse to put it on a lead. How am I supposed to know if this is something that they can help with if they don’t answer the phone. Makes animal control kind of useless.

As a fellow public safety employee who works for Sedgwick County, I am extremely disappointed at this departments complete disregard for messages left for an aggressive neighborhood dog at large trying to attack my dog who was on a leash on my own property. As a county employee, I am required to be available to provide a service the citizens of this county pay a tax for. Really disappointing that after leaving so many messages and calling several different numbers they cannot be bothered to even return one phone call.

I have had bad and good experiences, it depends on who answers. I have called and spoken to staff who actually care, want to help and respond quickly, even occasionally after hours (rare), then others you know when talking, don't want to be bothered & either don't respond & do nothing. Normally I have gotten through when calling but lately I can't seem to get anyone to answer, you can't even leave a message.
