We went to Animal Adoption Foundation for our 2nd dog Ralphie almost 8 years ago. We brought him home and he was an amazing dog and was great with our other dog Roscoe. Ralphie unfortunately passed away last year so we decided to go back to AAF. This would now be our 3rd adopted dog as we got Roscoe from Animal Friends Humane Society. We have given him and Ralphie amazing homes for a long time. Unfortunately this time around AAF was much more difficult. They made us bring Roscoe in to meet the 2 dogs we were interested in. They said no to one of the dogs within the first 5 seconds of them being on the opposite side of the fence of each other. The 2nd dog that he met they ended up telling us no as well. These were the only 2 dogs they had that they said were even options with us having Roscoe and a 4 year old. We brought up the fact that we didn’t even have to bring Roscoe in when we got Ralphie 8 years prior and the lady told us that dogs have changed a lot since COVID. I am not sure what that means. It doesn’t seem like AAF is looking to find homes for their pets. I wouldn’t recommend going here.

I was so surprised by the level of organization considering that the majority of the tasks are performed by volunteers. The welfare of the animals is first in every situation. The training is very detailed and I like that they use clicker training. A very positive experience and everyone was so friendly. I look forward to volunteering.

I was talked down like I was a bad pet owner on my application even though my cat lived to 17 years old. I would recommend any other animal shelter over this place.

It’s a great facility that seems to take good care of their pets, but the adoption process takes forever. They said they needed to call our landlord (to verify that our landlord allows pets) and then they would get back to us… which was fine, but it took nearly 2 weeks and several phone calls to get any info about the status of our application, and by the time they finally approved us, the kitten we wanted was already adopted and we had sought adoption elsewhere. Personally I think could help a lot more animals by making the adoption process quicker and easier.
