Back in 2014 I had a friend look out for my 2 pit mixes/ my loyal companions who were always there for me while I rebuilt our lives. Well, naturally my girl was upset and I was informed she ran off with her pup and animal control had picked them up. When I called I described what she looked like and the guy on the phone was extremely rude and insisted she was not there. Lord only knows what happened to my sweet kay Kay and her pup. My heart is forever broken. Please, and I can't stress this enough, y'all have GOT to do better. She didn't deserve to die just because I couldn't remember the exact name of the road she was picked up on. I said it was close to Dante but it was actually Inskip, which is close to Dante where they lived. I went to animal control and the humane society but they said it may had been too late by then and they could had been put down Just why?? :(

They are absolutely the laziest ppl ever. Just useless. Was told 4 times they were sending someone out to get a wild turkey out of a trap intended for a dog that has been running the neighborhood killing livestock and was told she wasnt coming out to do anything. The trap was gonna be moved that plan was in place but the AC lady said she wasn't doing anything! Absolutely useless! When a child or more chickens and goats are killed this is on AC at this point . I would put -100 stars but not an option

A skunk was having seizures, acting abnormal, and rolling around in the area where the residents of my apartment complex take their dogs. I Called the animal control and it took the lady 30 minutes to arrive, stayed 10 seconds, then left. The skunk was a few feet in the tree line and she wouldn’t wait to see if it’d come back out to capture it.

If I could give more stars I would. They came to my home to pick up a loose dog. They were absolutely professional. They even gave my almost 2 year old a little stuffed dog with a badge clipped on. They found the owner in minutes and let him come get his pup. And made sure I had his contact info just to be safe. Absolutely amazing Job guys thank you!

I have had to call eleven times about a neighbor’s dog. It was barking because it was cold and it’s owner has no shelter for it and temperatures are reaching below freezing. They’ve only talked to the woman who has somehow silenced the dog but is still slowly killing it. They had a small minpin they let freeze to death last year. You would think this would be taken seriously. But no. They are annoyed at my calls pleading for the life of this dog. I would leave 0 stars if it were an option. If the dog dies it is on your hands. I have done all I can and now I have called the local news station about your gross lack of concern. So so sad for this dog. They can press trespass charges if I go to try to rescue it. They would probably get another dog anyway. What is wrong with people?!

Found a stray labradoodle who is obviously loved and after calling and driving to numerous shelters and vets who were closed because it was Sunday after 6pm, I called Knox Animal Control. Dispatch told me they don't have anyone after 6 unless there is an emergency. When asked what I am supposed to do, because I can't take him home, they told me to just "let the animal go". What an awesome resource for our city. Shame on you.
