Staff is always friendly and accommodating. They do need more dog & cat food donations, to keep their community food pantry going & of course volunteers in all positions to help keep the Shelter going . They need foster parents for cats. Kittens, dogs & puppies. Any help would be a blessing not only to the shelter however, to the precious LIVES of these fur angels. Also they have programs to get your fur babies spayed/neutered. You can contact them by calling or going through their website. A BIG SHOUT OUT TO SULLIVAN COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER !! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!! They were able to remove these sweet fur babies I fostered momma & them for 8 weeks . There's no greater reward than saving the life of a fur baby & watching it grow & flourish ,then knowing they got a permanent home. It does take a com.unity of like minded people to do this & to love each enough to send them on to their forever home. 💯❤️
I am so thankful for this animal shelter. I highly recommend their "community cat" program for anyone who is trying to TNR cats in their area. Essentially, for anyone trying to trap ferals and get them fixed, the program allows the surgery to be cheaper. I have many community cats living outside my house and four of them have been neutered/spayed. It was extremely affordable, at just $20 per cat. I'm so appreciative for affordable surgical care for these cats. Taking them to my local vet would be thousands of dollars. They have all healed well and were able to resume their normal activities after taking it easy for a couple weeks. Thank you Animal Shelter of Sullivan County for changing the lives of four cats and counting.
We had 4 of our kitties neutered today. Super friendly staff and all the babies seem to be doing well! Definitely recommend the spay and neuter clinic. Also, so many babies waiting for furever homes. Wish we had the room!! If you are looking for a new baby, run don't walk!
We were blessed to find an addition to our family here. She is such a smart pup. She learns easily with training. Except for stealing my cucumbers, lol we have no issues. You just have to let her have her daily zoomies. She is learning door bell to come in and out. Their like babies. Expect faster. 😆
Waited in line 2 1/2 hours for cheap rabies shots, next year I'll pay full price at my vet. Location for this was horrible!. And my 2 dogs were behind me in passenger back seat so I was going to open back door for the shots, which made sense but they went to driver's side where my husband was and wanted him to hand dogs out that window. Very unorganized and we'll never go back. I appreciate the volunteers but a different location needs to be considered.
I made an appointment online Monday evening to get my father's cat neutered on Tuesday. I paid for extra service and I made a donation. I got a thank you email for my donation and I got an email for consent to do surgery. I never received an email telling me what time to be at the facility. Nowhere on the website does it say what time to drop off for surgery. I called first thing this morning no one answered the phone and they do not open till 12:30. I show up when they open. I was told drop off is at 7am. I proceeding to explain, I never got that email but I got all the other emails. Then I'm talk to like I'm completely stupid and ask if I check my junk mail. Then she proceeds to tell me all the boxes are checked you should have gotten it. So it's my fault? At no time did she offer an apologize or have any empathy that I had to take a day off of work and the poor cat cat hasn't eaten anything over twelve hours. It could not possibly be their system that messed up. I asked for refund and left. Funny. I the refund email before I even left the parking lot. I don't know what her problem is. I guess she's just miserable humen being? I will never visit this facility again and I will never donate another dime to you. Get some people in there that actually care about people and the animals. Somebody that actual had some customer service skills could have handle this in a much more professional manner not like some disgruntled, miserable, uneducated piece of trailer trash.
