Amazing rescue center for farm animals through the Humane Society! Definitely worth visiting on weekends when it’s open to the public. The “Barn Buddy” program animal sponsorships make great gifts!

I love this place so much! I adopted my beautiful Thoroughbred Cross mare from here back in February, and I just could not have had a better experience! I was told exactly what her history was (of what they knew), received all vet records and was always communicated with in a timely manner and have even stayed in touch with a few of the staff members. They vetted me and made sure that I was a good fit for my girl (Margo) and she for me. I so highly recommend this place! Why buy from someone that you don’t know and may not be honest about what you are getting when you could rescue/save one from here, likely for a fraction of what you could spend elsewhere? This was my very first horse, and I will come here to adopt again in the future! My favorite thing to do with her is to go on trail rides as much as possible. One of the best things I have ever done!! Thank you for a wonderful experience, LMR!!

I LOVE Longmeadow and I highly recommend them if you are considering adopting a rescue. Back in early October, I adopted my first horse, a OTTB who was in a trailer accident a year prior. My sweet mare Juno is a 6 year old thoroughbred with the prospect to be an excellent hunter/jumper. Thankfully, the Longmeadow team sprung into action that night, saving a large load of horses who faced the trailer accident on their way to slaughter. We are very lucky that Juno came out with minimal injuries and had no effect on her sweet personality. After searching for nearly 2 years to find the right horse, I finally found her and I could not thank the Longmeadow team enough for making this happen. When I saw Juno through a Facebook post, I knew I just had to go up to Missouri and try her. (I'm from Central Texas) From my first-hand experience of going to the rescue, I can recall a very positive and welcoming environment. As soon as you get your first look at the all the barns and watch the staff working there, it is quite impossible to deny the fact that Longmeadow cares so much for every animal that they encounter. They want to make sure that every animal that need a home, gets placed into the right one to make sure that they are comfortable, safe and happy. Even after you have adopted, they still keep up with how your animal is doing, and they love getting photos and updates along the way. If you are considering adopting, Longmeadow is the way to go!

We had so much fun today at the Longmeadow Rescue Ranch. Everyone was so nice and the animals were so cute. Very welcoming and friendly place to visit.
