I have been hearing horror stories about this shelter. Volunteers have found animals that have been neglected, that are sick and left with old food moldy food, they're trying to euthanize several dogs who are scared and traumatized instead of trying to rehab them. It really is a shame that you guys talk the talk but you do not want to walk. It's very upsetting to hear about Michelle leaving as I felt she was the only person there that I truly trusted. I will never recommend the shelter to any friends or family ever and And I am in the pet business there's several hundred clients that will get a heads up and I really hope people do their due diligence and read some reviews and information about these animals and the people who are " taking care of them " what a travesty!!!! When the truth comes out and light is shed on all of the awful things happening I really feel like more people should pay attention.. I don't see that you could have a possible side to your story because the animals come first not the people not the humans not your beef with co workers...

Thank you for the quick response in trapping the GSD on Middletown Ave. The ACO's were so pleasant and accommodating.

On my birthday on June 26, 2002 I adopted the sweetest black and white baby kitten. I got lucky cuz there were more black and white kittens there than I’d ever expected to see. The very super duper nice man working gathered all the black and white kittens together and we mentioned I was looking for a baby girl kitten, he said I believe that your animal should pick you and I went back and fell in love with all of them instantly. But the man working (I believe his name was Thad) was 100% right the animal should pick me and I should feel that connection to know that animal was for me. One of the kitties walked right over to me and meowed so I picked it up and snuggled it and then I played with it for a little while and I knew I was totally in love and that this cat was in love with me too... and guess what- it was a boy! We named him Kesey after the writer Ken Kesey- you would know him as the author of “One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest” among many other books, or maybe you know him as the leader of the Merry Pranksters and creator of the Furthur Bus. He was a genius and a Royal member of the original Counter Culture, Len had recently passed away at that time and in his honor I named my new kitten after him. Kesey lived a very long and very happy life, he embodied the peace and love and craziness in the best way possible of his namesake. He was amazing and lived a very long, very happy and so very loved life. Now it’s 19 years later and I’m calling every couple weeks to see if they can help me find my newest fur-baby... a Pittie Pup that needs a very loving fur-ever home. And since the pandemic I’ve started working on my own business from home and my husband and mom both with from home now as well so this new pup will never be alone, always showered with love and caring and taught to be a puddle of love and kisses, and like our first Pitbull, who we lost at the beginning of the pandemic, we want her sister to be a wonderful ambassador for her breed and we will train her to be so. I cannot wait for the puppy that’s meant to be❣️ Thank you for my kitty and thanks for all you do to care for these animals and thanks in advance for finding our newest fur-baby

I stopped by and spoke with an animal control officer named Dave who was incredibly passionate and truly cared for the animals at the shelter. I had a long conversation with him and am planning on adopting a cat from this shelter. I'm very shocked by some of the negative comments since I had quite a different experience. I didnt speak with a women. It's a small hidden shelter but I do believe they take good care of the animals and do their best to get them adopted. The often post on their Facebook page about animals they have and pet tips and reminders. Would highly reccomend!

I adopted a terrier from here. Mutch, chris, and dave were great. The animals are being taken very good care of. I filled out the application and then a couple days later Mitch called. When I picked up our dog, he had a folder with important paperwork about our dog. Which was very helpful. I felt I got a dog from an expensive pet shop. I wouldn't hesitate to adopt another pet.

We adopted 2 kittens from the Animal control. They were well taken care of, and the officer Cystal was very helpful and a pleasure to talk to. We now have two happy, healthy kittens. Thank you.
