Both dr.G and Dr. Laura have saved my puppy! They care so much here and take great care of our animals! Tonight my puppy(her name, not age) ate a few raisins but hard to tell how many as she ate in a muffin. Dr.g stayed open to help her throw up even though most of his staff had left. I appreciate their caring attitude and very fair pricing. They are my favorite vet in many years. Highly recommend!!!

The Southwest Ocala Veterinary Hospital is owned and operated by one of the best doctors I have ever met! Dr. Gerhart, along with his daughter Dr. Laura Gerhart provide a charming office space for parents of pets in Ocala. Their colleagues greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome upon entering. I am grateful to have this classic veterinary office in our community. Consistently the best family pet doctor in Ocala, FL. Dr. Gerhart made our new puppy process less stressful by taking care of all our needs and making it affordable for the new addition to our family. Thank you so much for being in service on the Southwest side of Ocala! Your family practice was an amazing experience for us, thank you for taking your time to get to know us.

May 19, 2023. I took my precious Daphne to Dr. Gerhardt. He saw blood from a rectum check. Gave her a shot to hydrate her and another shot. Told us to take her home and we'll see a big improvement in 4 hours. She died. Terrible veterinarian. We trusted him. He's the supposed educated vet. There is no question that in hindsight at least an xray would've been a responsible thing to do. At least. He is absolutely should not be practicing. He killed our dog and made nearly $400 doing it. She was only two.

Both doctors are the most kind caring people. They understand that it’s not just a pet, but a family member. The cremation service is reasonable and the paw print a wonderful memory. My new cats will be going there as well.

I originally took my cat to Dr. Laura & she said he had a bad ear infection. He had been seen by 5 other vets previously who all thought he had allergies, although I told them he didn't. None discovered the ear infection. She thoroughly cleaned out the ears & gave us appropriate meds. She said go for a followup in 2 weeks. She was on vacation, so I saw her father. He also cleaned the ears but mixed up a different medicine for his ears. I will be taking him back soon because he has started shaking his head again. I think the infection is back, although he has not been sneezing like he was, just shaking his ears. At least their prices are very reasonable.

My poor 5# Maltipoo will not allow the groomer or me to trim her muzzle so I called this office to see if they would be able to sedate her just long enough to cut the matted hair around her mouth since she is in obvious discomfort and the receptionist refused to assist me in how to accomplish this much needed task stating “ we don’t do grooming “. Her only suggestion was to give me calming medicine which will not work for her
