Description Peoria Humane Society is dedicated to creating a humane environment for animals and humans. We are focused on ending pet overpopulation, cruelty and neglect to animals, and promoting respect and kindness to all through education and public awareness. The PHS partners with Peoria County and the City of Peoria to offer comprehensive animal welfare and animal control services to all of Peoria county. Freed from the responsibility of funding a shelter, the PHS can devote its time, effort, and funds to increasing the adoption of shelter animals and creating a humane community.

I came to see a cat I was having them hold for me when I got there they gave to another couple, I did find my sweet cat there but all of the kitten were sick with upper respiratory infection, whoever is the vet there shaved a really big space on my cat that was at least 4-6 inches of a patch which was not necessary, for such a simple neutered or spayed procedure because there was also male cat that looked the same, ridiculous, the papers on my cat told me she was not sick I took her home made vet appointment she was sick with upper respiratory infection, so they lied, which also costed me extra money to help this poor kitten get better I also saw on there website at that time a video of a volunteer or worker there that slapped a dog on nose hard enough that it reacted as if it couldn’t catch its breath, I don’t have any faith in the people that run that facility I don’t think they take of the animals well, I think they should change management or close that facility. Kayla wolf was the young lady that smacked the dog.

We took our pit bull dog there for her to be neutered. They do that for free for pit bull dogs if you meet the requirements. They were very pleasant and were very reassuring to us. She has done very well since the procedure!

The ladies here truly put the animals before anything else. I appreciate that so much. Overall the people there make it an experience I would recommend to anyone. Also stop down and see all the cute animals who need homes, they love visitors!!
