Description We know your pet means everything to you. So we take care of the little pal with all the love it deserves. Our highly experienced and educated veterinary doctors and staff are experts in full-service veterinary services and are dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of your pet. Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, the veterinarians here at Prairie Animal Veterinary Hospital stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We are a low-stress veterinarian's office who see dog and cats daily.

We take our 3 cats here and the staff is so nice and helpful! We got our kitten Ivy spayed at this vet and the staff was very knowledgeable and supportive during her healing process. This clinic offers text messaging with clients if you have any questions about your pet. Staff is very friendly and works with our 3 cats very well during visits. Would recommend to other pet owners!
This is the best vet around! I have brought both my dogs here since they were little pups and I could not have asked for a more knowledgeable doctor or a more kind and understanding staff. You can tell they really care about their patients! I would give this facility 10 stars if I could!
We have been clients for over 10 years. Always professional and pleasant. They genuinely care for our dogs and I am extremely grateful to the entire staff for listening to me and giving my entire pack exceptional care
I came across Prairie Animal Hospital when searching for end of life care for my almost 14 year old Staffy, Zion. I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate everyone I came in contact with during the process. From the initial email inquiry to the final goodbye with our good boy, Prairie Animal Hospital went above and beyond to ensure Zion and us humans were treated with love, compassion, and dignity. I really appreciated the transparent and upfront pricing and explanation of the entire process. It was such a difficult decision to make, letting go of Zion, but I believe we were in the absolute best of hands. The Dr. and the Vet Techs we worked with gave us all the time we needed, listened as we shared stories about Zion's quirks and experiences, and it truly felt like they loved him as we do. When the time is right to bring in some new furry friends to our home, I know exactly where I will be going for all our veterinary needs. I also appreciate how much education the practice shares via social media, etc. Their passion for pets is beyond anything I've experienced in any practice from here to Chicago. Finally, the atmosphere of Prairies Animal Hospital promotes comfort and discourages that anxiety most pets feel when going to the vet. It seems as if they've literally thought of everything, and thar thoughtfulness is evident in every interaction I've had with them. Thank you so much, Prairie Animal Hospital for making one of the saddest days of my life into a cherished memory.
Lauren was only a patient here for the last few months of her life, but this is the best vet I ever took her to. Dr. Kuhn, the technicians, and all of the other staff truly care about both the patient and the owner. Thank you for the compassionate end of life care you gave Lauren and for making both me and her as comfortable as possible during her final moments.
Edit: I did bring my cat in a carrier but I'm not going to leave her in there for half an hour. What a patronizing comment. And no they didn't tell me they'd do that chemical on my cat. Obviously the reply is some out of touch manager and not anyone that was there. Downgrading because of the dishonesty here. Also, I am fully aware of how time works and I know I arrived early. That has no bearing on anything. Getting a cat into a carrier isn't an exact science so I gave myself time. They did get me into a room right away. I don't think customer service is your specialty here. Original:I've been here three times for my cat. 2020, 2022, 2024. In 2020 we had to wait in the parking lot because of the pandemic, which is fine and I get that, but we had to wait over an hour for any service without any communication because they were so backed up. It was hot so we had to run the air conditioning in the car for an hour. 2022 I don't recall any issues. Today we had a 10am appt. At 10:05 they said they were running late. At 10:15 I stepped out and asked if we'd be seen. Meanwhile I have a terrified cat clutching to me this whole time. Finally around 10:25 they come in and apologized. They did fine at the appt and seemed knowledgeable, but their time management is atrocious. I'll find another vet that can manage their time better. Not doing 1 star because I appreciate the apology and they are knowledgeable. I just wish they respected their customers time, or cared that animals are in a strange place and are very nervous. If they're 25 minutes behind at 10am I wonder how far behind they'll be at 3pm. 2 out of 3 times it's been bad, so I'll go elsewhere.
