Adopted a dog from here for my birthday. Best gift ever! This new facility is clean and nice. Lots of different breeds to choose from. My girl is so sweet, she follows me from room to room and wants love. The adoption process was easy and prices are good.

The shelter made adopting our dogs extremely easy. I took my guy home the same day and my girlfriend got hers after the waiting period. The paperwork was easy and the adoption fee was minimal. They are extremely well behaved and they are best friends now, they have probably seen more of the world than most people and we are so glad we got them

Love what they do for animals. If you can please go volunteer, they have programs you can take out the animals for a trip. Tails on trails and tails around town. Give a shelter animal some love and help them find their forever homes :)

My wife and I came in on August 21st, 2022, specifically to meet a cat named "Bomber." Even though it was very busy when we arrived (maybe around 12PM, not long after they opened) every staff member we spoke with or encountered was very helpful and friendly! We had already researched Bomber on the county website and he seemed like the perfect fit for us, so after a short wait, we were taken back to meet him. Bomber was the sweetest kitty, so we said we would take him right away. Roughly an hour later we were heading home with our new best buddy! The adoption process from beginning to end was smooth and quick, especially considering how busy the shelter was that day. I think the entire trip was around an hour and a half total. We absolutely adore Bomber! He's the gentlest, most loving old man. He gets along great with our dogs, and he just seems to genuinely enjoy being around us. I work nights, so he spends his nights laying on the sofa in my office and keeping me company (and sometimes distracting me with his cute snores!) I just wanted to say 'thank you' to the Maricopa County Shelter for helping us find our new best friend! We will definitely recommend the shelter to any friends or family looking for a new loved one to adopt. *Update June 21st, 2024* I'm heartbroken to report that Bomber passed away on May 15th due to some age related health issues. He wasn't with our family long, but he will be in our hearts forever!

I can't condone the murder of animals, so I give 5 stars in the hope that people adopt vs. shop. They offer great prices for the many abandoned, dumped & surrendered dogs here at the West location I visited. A mere 25 bucks to save the life of a dog that will do anything for you. They spay/neuter for you with free vaccinations. They even have a 30-day return policy if the dog isn't working out. They also have a program where you can volunteer to walk a dog for a bit. It's a great way to take a dog away from the stress of the shelter & hopefully get it seen out and about & let everyone know it's available for adoption. The cats are all at petsmart. Save a life today. Go adopt the best soul & save one of these babies before it's too late. Or just walk one. Please. They need help.

Niki, at the front desk (sorry if I spelled the name wrong), was absolutely wonderful. I had a dog picked out and was waiting to see her, someone else was second in line for the same dog and knew it. When called to see the dog, she jumped in front of me, Niki stopped them and made sure that I was able to see my new baby first, and YES, that sweet pup has a new forever home with me now. I cannot wait to pick her up and bring her home. Thank you guys for taking such awesome care of the animals and the people.
