I highly recommend Austin Vet Care at Metric. I have been seeing Dr Brandes with my senior dogs since moving here. He has always been very kind, never pushed any treatments or labs. He has always given me all the info I needed to make the best decision for my babies. He has been supportive when I had to put the three seniors down( ages 15+, 16+ and 20.). I now have two shitzu mixes who have had problems as well. My girl has bladder stones and he performed her third surgery and she did fantastic. I am so grateful to him and the staff as I was extremely stressed due to it being her third time. My boy tore his ACL but with good advice of crating him and limiting his activity he never required surgery and healed well. I would also like to mention one of the receptionist Ariel- she is so kind and always tries to help in any way possible to have my pets seen in a timely manner. Thank you to the wonderful staff !!!

Probably the worst clinic I have ever been to. I’m so upset with the lack of care and laziness to get their job done. They kept on asking me to make new appointments because they just couldn’t examine my “aggressive” cat. Of course this happens at a vet job, it’s not uncommon, but I have witnessed Veterinarians work hard to get the job and care for animals, try to figure out option. It was not this case here. They gave up! They stressed out my cat so badly that he got a UTI and ended up in the hospital for a few days. Had him for years and never had urinary tract issues. So disappointed.

Horrible office that ONLY WANTS YOUR MONEY. Brought my cat in for chronic vomitting, so they scheduled a bunch of tests and gave us medication. We paid 4x as much for his medication than with his previous vet. They also did not tell us how much the tests were going to cost so I requested an estimate.... over $1000 for blood work and a stomach xray. I emailed over 10 other vets for estimates of the same tests, and every single one was 30%-50% less, even without the thrive membership discount we had for this vet. They are insanely over priced and also are nowhere near as good at handling animals as other vets. They were going to have to sedate my cat to do tests and refused to do an exam because he hissed 1 time. Our new vet was able to give an exam and take blood with no sedation, and is doing tests in stages to avoid spending unecessarry money. I didn't actually realize how bad this vet office was until we found our new vet, but trust me, you can do way better for way less. I highly recommend Thrive Round Rock.

UPDATE TO UPDATE(4.8.24): This place has changed so much and not for the better and seems to just seems to keep going downhill - service/front desk wise. The communication and personability that made me love this place is totally gone. My last 2 calls and visits to this office were purely transactional and about nothing but money. The lady behind the counter barely looked up, didn't care what my or my pet's name was and just asked for a phone number while she proceeded to tell me about a balance I had due that was already paid, again not even looking in my direction. At no point did she care to mention that I would need to bring my dog in for bloodwork before being able to fill the next prescription. I find out on the day that I am trying to re-fill it and about to go out of town. So now I am trying to rearrange my schedule to get her in this week if possible and will being so online seeing as though human interaction is asking too much. I could have done this the last time I picked up her meds had I known. It's gotten so uncomfortably different and detached in their office so I will be doing what I can online with as little interaction with them as possible. I've requested my pet's records to start looking for another vet and hope to do so sooner than later. So disappointing because my dog is 13 and this is the only vet she's ever gone to. I used to speak so highly of Austin Vet Care and the way they treated their patients and their patients humans. The sad part is that their motto is "is about the relationship".... that has gotten gone so far gone out the window it's sincerely disheartening. I'm going to have to find out where Tammy went to! UPDATE: I had to update my review based on recent experiences. The actual Doctors are still AMAZING! However, the warm comforting vibe that the office used to have is gone. Since Tammy left and Ariel isn't working the front anymore the feeling is only transactional. Which isn't a good feeling when you are trusting strangers with your fur babies. Before I knew that the team there would love on and treat my babies like I would, now I worry if that small meaningful and personal touch will ever return or if I need to start looking for another vet. I just want to know that my fur baby is in goods hands with the entire staff and not just with the actual Vet. I've been bringing my pups to this vet most of their lives and I can't express enough how much I love this vet. Everyone that works there is absolutely amazing and have no problem going above and beyond Dash and Circles (the pups) know when we are going and when we get down the street from the clinic Circles is ready to get out the car and gets so excited! There is an amazing staff here who you can tell care about and has a passion for what they do. Thanks to everyone and a special thanks to Tammy and Ariel (I hope I spelled you name right love) because these two always make me smile when we come in. And another special thank you to Dr. Tracey who has seen and heard many of my emotional breakdowns behind my fur-babies and thank you ALL for what you do!

I am always pumping this place up to anyone who will listen. I am on several Great Dane pages and I am always suggesting Austin Vet Care at Metric. I called today for a quick weight check and refill for Ollivander (my 6 month old Great Dane) and Emily (who is amazing) took the call. I didn't even have to say our last name, they take a personal interest in your furry family member and remembered us. You can absolutely tell they truly love their job. Dr. Tracy is awesome!!! I used to live closer but have since moved and I still go to this location. It's the people there that make me feel confident in bringing my fur babies to them. 5 stars isn't enough!!! Love this place!!!
