Great little sanctuary for rescued farm animals and others. Run by a husband and wife team and large support from the volunteer community. The animals here are well cared for and have a happy place to live out the rest of their natural lives. Highly urge you to look them up and come volunteer. The animals will love to see you!

The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary is not only a sanctuary for abused, injured or unwanted farm animals, but a sanctuary for humans to learn compassion and what it means to be a family. After my first time visiting the farm in summer 2019, I knew I would be coming back visit - fast forward to August 2020 and I became an official volunteer after attending many fundraising events. I did not realize how much of a difference it had made in my life until my family and friends starting say how happy I looked every time I talked about spending a weekend morning there. Each animal (yes, every single chicken, too!) has a personality and so much love to give. They have all been given their second chance at life thanks to Steve and Diane, who always have room in their hearts to take in animals in need. It has been such a calming place for me, especially during this pandemic, to share laughs and bittersweet memories with the other volunteers, whom I consider my friends. The Happy Herd is a very special place - it is amazing to see the love and care that is given to these special animals, the same love and care that all animals deserve, and I am so fortunate to be a part of it. Keep doing what you are doing, you make the world a better place!

What an absolute delight! Diane and company are doing amazing work here, and we absolutely loved our visit this morning. All the animals have names and stories and they're all SO CUTE. You get to give the piggies belly rubs and feed the cows pears and just be delighted the entire time you're there. You've gotta book your visit literally *months* in advance, but honestly it turns out that the wait makes the visit that much better. We were the only people visiting this morning and had Diane's undivided attention, and it was perfect. I can't recommend it enough - we can't wait to come back!

Loooved visiting The Happy Herd! The work being done here is lovely and the tours are very informative and interesting! Kandie: you are an absolute joy! Thank you so much for taking me around and getting all of these beautiful photos. 💕 Booking months in advance is completely worth it.

Recently attended a Yoga fundraising event and would gladly support any event that the Happy Herd puts on. Beyond providing a great service the hospitality offered was beyond any expectation. After the event was over everyone was treated to a tour and welcomed to spend time with the animals. Our visit ended up being several hours and was an absolute pleasure.

I highly recommend visiting and/or volunteering at this animal sanctuary. Upon entrance at your visit you'll be greeted by a couple of gentle free-roaming turkeys, you can give a big pig a belly rub (Lucy may even grace you with her lovely maple syrup aroma, if you're doing it right), you can meet a multitude of goats, a few sheep, a dolly of a donkey called 'Baby', a few bulls, all the while with chickens, roosters and ducks roaming freely. Diane is a wonderful host and artist, note the paintings on the animal huts throughout, with her beautiful homage to the animals lost since in operation. Hearing the stories of each of these animals is reason enough to support such a wonderful cause, and make you think twice about your own choices and the impact they have. Thank you Happy Herd for doing all that you do ♥️
