Description Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center provides effective and affordable canine services to Tucson and surrounding areas. We are committed to helping you build and maintain a balanced, enjoyable relationship with your dog. Sol Dog Lodge is proud to be a small kennel where your dog will receive individualized care and attention. Unlike most kennels that are “free for all,” we set expectations for the dogs in our care, and ask for and reward your dog for the same good manners you would expect at home. Sol Dog Lodge boarding, and training services will challenge your dog both mentally and physically, so they leave balanced, tired and having practiced important skills.

Shelley, Rachel, and the entire staff here are amazing. Sasha has the best time here, but more importantly, we know she is being well cared for and spoiled rotten! Your dog will need to be evaluated before any training or boarding, but they really are the best in Tucson. They fill up fast, and you will need to make reservations well in advance.

Sol Dog Lodge is simply the best in Tucson for boarding and training. Our rescue mini-aussie, Prudence, was in need of socialization after being abandoned in a breeders backyard with her sister for her first year. Sol Dog Lodge has been phenomenal in helping us with this process. From organized training, to Sunday Pack-walks, to overnight boarding, they have shown the professional knowledge and emotional empathy to help Prudence assimilate with her canine companions (see photo) and human encounters. We recommend Sol Dog Lodge to anyone interested in top-notch dog training and boarding.

I really cannot say enough great things about Sol Dog. They offer a variety of services, and even board/train special case dogs from PACC. I discovered them back in the summer when I needed some help with one of my dogs who was reactive to other dogs. I took Mabel there for 4-days of day training, and Terra was just wonderful with her. Not only did Mabel learn and grow in just 4-days, Terra gave me very useful tips to bring home that have helped me to continue to work on Mabel's reactivity. Mabel is now able to easily interact with other dogs and attends their day camp several times a month in order to ensure she has opportunities to socialize. She always comes home exhausted from her play day, and she's getting better and better with her interaction skills!! Nicole and Anisa always find time to talk with me each time I pick up Mabel in order to let me know how she did that day. They are both wonderful with her. There is also a groomer on their site ....Becky's Pet Parlor...and I have to say that Becky is a freakin' dog whisperer. In addition to Mabel, I also have a senior Chiweenie/Jack Russell 11lb 'handful'. Bernie will NOT let anyone touch his tiny toes except for me....and it has taken me many months of just slowly and gently massaging/touching his feet for him to even tolerate me. He is a rescue so I'm not sure what is history is, but man ....stay away from the dude's feet because he goes into full on melt-down mode when it's time for a nail trim. Except ...not with Becky....he is a little gentleman for her. She began very slowly at first with another person helping hold him, and he allowed her to use a dremel for a short period of time the first day. She's done his nails several times now, and he just loves her. You will not go wrong by choosing Sol Dog ....I highly recommend them.

I want to share how pleased I was with Caitlyn's grooming on my toy golden doodle. I absolutely love the cut she gave Piper and I've never seen her coat so WHITE and beautiful! Thank you so much! I know Piper has anxiety when she goes to the groomer, but she seemed fairly relaxed after I picked her up. I think she enjoyed her time there!

We love love love LOVE Sol Dog! And, as you can see in the picture, our big baby huey GSD loves it there, too. It's not just the availability of daycamp and boarding, but it's also the knowledgeable staff. They love dogs and understand dogs and I feel like our dog gets the best possible environment -- caring humans, freedom to have crazy play time, but still an expectation of 'polite' dog behavior and an adherence to his training. This isn't a place with dogs running amok; it's a place where they are encouraged and able to be their best doggy selves. Which sounds hokey, I know, but it's true! They offer a whole host of "enrichment" activities, including walks, walks on the treadmill, etc. and are truly a large step up from your average "boarding" experience. Sol Dog makes an actual positive impact in our lives by the services they offer because I know our dog is happy there any of the times I've had to board him (either for the day or for extended visits) and that makes travelling, home renovation, etc. so much less stressful. And "doggy day camp" is a real plus. Our dog is short on doggy friends near our home and Sol Dog's day camp is such a better experience for him than the times we've tried dog parks for play time. The staff is professional, friendly, quick to communicate, and is a true blessing for any dog owner.

It's 102°F outside and I'm sitting in the Marana Home Depot parking lot behind a Sol Dog Lodge van. A staff member wearing the Sol Dog Lodge t-shirt took a large dog that looked like a pit mix out of the van and proceeded to walk him/her around on the asphalt parking lot at 3 PM. I could clearly see the dog lifting it's paws awkwardly as if it were in pain. Some other lady was walking near them in the parking lot with a German shepherd with a green muzzle on, who was also lifting his/her legs frantically and trying to lay down. Idk, just seems like they should have shoes on. Or walk them somewhere else. "For all dogs and the people who love them" ...
