Just started bringing my new pup here and they are great! I don’t feel rushed at all and the Doc made sure to answer all my questions/concerns, front desk and vet tech ladies are super friendly. I feel very comfortable leaving my fur baby with them
We started going here about 2 years ago when we moved to Washington. We saw a few different vets in the office while establishing care for our dogs and cats. When one of our cats suddenly got sick last year Dr. Marsh and a few of the techs were there for Penny (and me). They went above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and special while she was making it very clear that she disliked being there. Their actions during an emotional time had a big impact. We are so grateful for them. As far as price, I don’t think they are unreasonable compared to our prior vets in other states. The front desk staff are friendly and have always been helpful. It is nice to have a vet that we can trust and we know cares about our pets.
Our cat fell suddenly ill shortly after moving to the area and we hadn’t had a chance to get established at a local vet yet. The staff here were so great about getting us in and caring for my cat. Dr. Bordman is fantastic. She helped us understand our options and followed up with us regularly. I really felt like the folks here at Puyallup Valley Vet treated my animal like it was their own. We’re so grateful!
Not sure what happened to this place, has really gone downhill. Use to be the best around, so much so that I am commuting 40 min to go there. Not anymore sadly. Staff are all really nice exception of one office admin with the bullnose nose ring. She seems like she hates her job. Employees will tell you conflicting information. Red flag should be that they won’t even give you a cost estimate for a neuter. Said this is due to the weight of the pup is needed at the time of surgery and have to wait until pup is already 5 months. Which makes sense however my Pup would be 5 months in two weeks and still wouldn’t give me an estimate other than there would be an additional $190 charge for blood work needed for the surgery but we could do the same day as the surgery. Meaning they wouldn’t have results until after the surgery. Total money grab. Waited 40 minutes past appointment time today to receive one booster shot making me miss another appointment. Overall, not the experience I use to receive here, doesn’t even seem like it’s the same management
4/8/24 - Still great vet care at a busy clinic. Could I find less expensive? Probably. But not worth it. I care more about getting the best care possible for my girls from a vet I trust. They aren’t pushy about services or products. They take the time to explain options/cost, pro/con of a treatment. I just carefully budget for their premium service so I don’t have to go cheap on my dogs. Our visit with Dr Bordman was great. She was patient with my nervous girls and took the time to go over all of my concerns/questions. She made sure at the end that she addressed everything clearly and didn’t miss anything. ———— We have been coming here for decades. They treat us and our pets like family. They set the bar so high on everything. They treat all our dogs like family. Even under new ownership, they have continued to keep a high standard of care for pets and pet parents despite the hardships and stress of COVID. One of my dogs had a medical emergency in the summer, 2022. No pet hospital would take her over the weekend despite scary symptoms since they were so busy. They didn't think it was a life and death situation so I had to wait for my regular vet. These guys fit me in on Monday. It actually was very serious and we weren't sure if she would make it. We had no idea how this happened. They actually said I should go to a vet hospital! They don't do overnight care. I didn't have the money to go, so they did absolutely everything they could to save her within my budget. She pulled through thanks to the diligent efforts of the staff and vets. I know how high the demand for good vet time is. Our emergency was unexpected and they went above and beyond for my girl and were so kind and compassionate during that scary time. I'm assuming their price is average for good vet care. I haven't gone anywhere else all these decades. Quality care is more important than cheap care for me. The trust I have with this team of vets and staff is more important than saving a few bucks. Be patient and kind, have reasonable expectations for an extremely busy, top notch vet clinic and you won't regret bringing your pets to Puyallup Valley Vet Clinic!
We have been bringing our pets here for the last several years, but this location has been bought by someone else- we have had bad experiences here over the last 12 months. We decided to tell this vet we would be leaving to a new vet in November of last year after 3 pets annual exams (due to being up sold unnecessary items & medications/pet safety becoming not their priority). We tried to place orders online for flea medications for the animals through 1-800 pet meds, to which the clinic lied and said "they have no record" of our animals. I called to figure out why this happened, to which they stated that because we are leaving their office (even though all annual exams had been done and deemed safe for flea meds) they would not be allowing orders? This is a prime example of how they've become focused on money and not concerned with pet health. We get to our new vet and they call and ask to have ALL records transferred to them. This is normal practice so the new vet knows what your pet needs/does not need. Puyallup Valley Vet transferred some of our pets records, but not vaccines for some reason. Upon hearing this, I called them today and asked why all records were not transferred when the new vet office called. They had no excuses why and no remorse. How dangerous this could be if someone doesn't have knowledge of all vaccines provided to their pets. Please think twice before deciding on this office. They have a lot of good reviews from previous years but the quality and focus have changed.
