Description Charming thrift shop in downtown Clermont with all proceeds going to The Animal League, an animal welfare organization aimed at rescuing, rehoming, and rehabilitating, unwanted and injured dogs and cats. Shop at the thrift store or donate your gently used items and help us save pets!
Great store kind staff. Huge discounts. Some items seem over priced. But overall great store.
Stopped by to look for bargains, help the animals, and to drop off 4 bags of goods to the shop for resale. Didn't buy much, and when we asked where to take our 4 bags of donated goods we we told we needed an appointment. He then said he would take clothes today only, but never donate again without an appointment. We understand thrift shops, and if we are donating it looks new, it works fine, it has been washed or cleaned, and unlike many articles of clothing I saw in the shop, nothing we donate will be stained. We won't be back and you can see what we donated at the thrift store about 2 miles from this place. Seemed a better option than empting our bags to donate the cloths only.
There's a modest selection of things to discover here - from books, CDs, old electronics (CD players), clothes (kids, women, men - sorted by size), jewellery, mugs, art, crystals, boardgames, old bags, light bulbs, to flashlights. Overall everything is more or less organized and most things are affordable/well priced - with the exception of clothes being priced on the higher end. They do have a fitting room for trying on clothes, as well as a section for formal wear / designer goods (including dresses, outerwear, a shoe display etc.). I found a cute too large casual dress that I can adjust and a new Cranium boardgame. Most importantly, I love that all proceeds go towards helping animals in need!
Prices on housewares, knick knacks, glassware, etc. are outrageous - priced like an antique store rather than thrift store prices. I would say hard good prices have tripled since I first visited this store 2 years ago. Clothing and other soft goods are bargain priced, though. And staff is super friendly and helpful.
We used to go to this thrift store all the time, but not anymore. They changed the manager here (a WHILE back), and ever since the prices have gone up and up. Used to be able to get almost all the clothes (minus new with tags or higher end brands) for $1/piece. Everything is so overpriced now. Yes, it's for charity, but a thrift store shouldn't be gouging. The volunteers I've encountered are sweet and kind, but the management has changed and not for the better. We used to donate all our things here instead of having a garage sale; we now go to New Beginnings and donate there. If you want to help their rescues, donate food and other items to their facility, NOT their thrift store. Gave 2 stars because we adopted our dog from there back in 2009 and have taken a couple of lost dogs to them for rescue. But their thrift store is NOT a thrift store anymore; more like a high priced garage sale. There are plenty of other thrift stores in Clermont that are offering better prices while still helping a good cause.
Nice clean thrift store. Some great finds. Great location. Friendly staff.
