I needed a new vet since moving back in the area and as we all know, finding a doctor for ourselves are already hard enough. Add another layer that we are finding a doctor for our beloved pets; I'm even more nervous. After calling around and reading reviews for 5 other vets in the area, i landed on Good Samaritan. My first impression of Good Samaritan started with a phone call to schedule an appointment. Not only were they receptive to my needs, they were also clear with processes and procedures for new patients without me asking. Upon arriving, the staff members were very courteous and kind understanding the situation that my dog automatically knows where he is and hates the vet. They timed it so i can get in and out quickly. The appointment with the vet itself was straightforward and easy to understand. It was obvious the vet was very knowledgeable and respectful to me and my dog needs. She was quickly able to see the signs of a defensive dog but coached me on how to handle him while she took vitals since he was very responsive to me. She also gave me tips and guidance on his diet and did not try to oversell me on products or unnecessary procedures. In fact, my dog needed all his vaccination and highly advise me to get two today and the other two in 2 weeks because it will be hard on his body. I very much appreciate them and i am glad ive become a customer. And in the lobby while waiting, it looks like all their customers have been going to them for years. I highly recommend!
I love Dr Eckloff at Good Samaritan Veterinary Hospital! Veterinary Care is the most important aspect of my visits, however the customer service is significantly affected by their recent covid protocol changes. It is extremely chaotic and frustrating when arriving with multiple pets. Their phone system does not accommodate the number of callers they have scheduled appointments for, so you have to just keep hanging up and calling back in order to get through . Sometimes it takes 15 minutes of hanging up and calling back over and over again to get through on the phone. If I were not aware how good these vets are, I would not be waiting this out. Also, if I had an urgent need with a very sick pet I would not want to be enduring this kind of frustration. As I mentioned, veterinary care is the most important aspect of my visits to an animal hospital., so I still extend five stars to this business, however it would be most helpful if check-in procedures could be evaluated and overcome the phone system issue, which has been going on for a very long time. The front desk staff are very helpful and patient in trying to deal with this issue as well. They also make every effort to accommodate appointment needs which is very helpful. Thank you Good Sam!
