She believes that regardless of species, there is a connection we all have with some animals that makes them part of our chosen family. They give us never ending love and we want to do the best we can for them in return. That belief is how she runs her hospital. She treats your pet like her very own. Every procedure, preventative, or service needed is available for every species. No unnecessary procedures or medications will be prescribed, only what will directly benefit your pet's health so they can live a comfortable, full life with you. Love this vet and her staff! She incorporates conventional medicine with holistic, this is very important to me. My CKD cat’s blood work fluctuates. She says “ Let’s get these numbers down” as opposed to writing him off as just another cat declining with kidney disease. Staff are very sweet and “cat whisperers” as well as Dr. H. I am confident my baby is in good hands

Dr. Hollifield truly loves animals as well as her staff. She is knowledgeable and scientific about dogs as well as exotics. I have been very happy with the after hours responses about care for my new puppy. She also has all of the resources in house and can get labs back quickly. The staff is caring and kind to my pets and prompt to respond to prescription refills, pet concerns, and more! I highly recommend Best Friends!

Dr. H is the best. She loves birds, and as a bird owner I love to see it. We took our tiny 6-month-old bird in for her first check-up, and Dr. H was so kind and sweet to our scared little one. She had a feisty little doggo in the exam room next to us, and she had the little canine moved to another room because our bird was terrified of the barking. She assessed our bird, Mango, and gave us such valuable tips and info. Her assistant was lovely as well. We had some follow-up questions about our birdie's care days later, and she responded promptly as soon as we emailed (9 pm, btw). Who is this angel?! We feel so lucky to have found her!

The way they exploit you for profit is unreal. They add junk fees and other fees that make one short basic checkup over $200. The vet also raised her voice when I couldn't afford the extra's they tried to push off on me. In two visits I paid almost $1000. The staff are great and everyone is devoted to animals but the price gouging is unreasonable. They add several junk fees to their services, buyer beware. Highly recommend Gaithersburg Veterinary Clinic and Kenhaven Animal Hospital for reasonable fees and old fashioned vets that treat you with respect.

Excellent care for my pet pig. Dr. Hollifield drained a large abscess under his chin as an outpatient, stitched up the incision with dissolving stitches, sent us home with some pain medicine and care instructions. Several days later now, he is doing very well.

So happy to have found Best Friends' Veterinary Hospital. They are the only hospital I could find that provide the Hemorrhagic disease vaccine for rabbits. I also learned from Dr. Hollifield while I was there about how to properly take care of my bunnies which also included take home informational handouts. Thank you!!
