Without an appointment, we provide outstanding emergency care 24 hours per day, seven days a week, including holidays. Our Gaithersburg veterinarians have received specialized training in emergency medicine, and our board-certified veterinary critical care team provides care for animals who are in life-threatening conditions.

We had to bring our dog here this past week because she was having some serious health concerns. From the moment we walked in everybody was extremely friendly. We ended up leaving our dog there for a little over a day to be monitored while treated for her conditions. All three of the doctors we worked with while our dog was there were compassionate and attentive. They answered all of our questions and did not make us feel pressured to do anything we weren’t comfortable with. They were upfront about all costs and were communicative throughout our dogs stay. While it was so hard to leave her, we knew she was in great hands and being cared for by an incredible staff. We hope we don’t ever need to go to an animal hospital again, but if we do, we know our dog will get the best of the best care at VRA. Thank you to all the staff! Oakley is happy to be home and feeling better!!

My mom had to put her foster dog down and they were absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was appropriate and comforting. It was very private and had a separate exit so you could leave without seeing anybody after crying and going through that difficult experience.

Veterinary Referral Associates is kind of far from my home but well worth the drive as they are kind, professional , and knowledgeable, and the whole process from arrival to checking out ran smoothly. My dog is happier, too.

Highly recommend this 24-hour Urgent Care Animal Hospital. The staff are Professional Animal Lovers! The level of care and expertise is truly phenomenal. From Urgent care to follow-up, ALL of the staff that we were in contact with are compassionate, caring, and kind....Around the clock❣️ Facility is spacious, clean, and comfortable. My cousin's little dog Max knew he was💯 in good hands❣️

Our dog Bella has 2 tumors on each of her adrenal glands. One is the size of a baseball and the other the size of a golf ball. We decided to pursue radiation treatment with Dr. Ben. I can't say enough about how wonderfully Bella was treated and how wonderfully we were treated by Dr. Ben and his staff. They are so acccommodating and nice! They go above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable with everything they were doing for Bella. She had 5 treatments and came through beautifully each time. We highly recommend Dr. Benot Clerc-Renaud - he is absolutely the best ever!

Writing this review for the front desk and the oncology department (Dr. Ben). Everyone we’ve interacted with has been amazing and while we didn’t elect to pursue treatment at this time for our boy due to some of his other health issues complicating things, I would definitely feel confident recommending this team to anyone. All of our options were laid out super clearly and the team prioritized scheduling us (very important when trying to fight cancer, since you typically want to act quickly). They’ve also done a wonderful job coordinating with our primary care vets, making recommendations while not being pushy, and showing compassion during a difficult time. Overall just can’t say enough good things about Dr. Ben and the front desk team. Highly recommend this facility.
