Our kids wanted to adopt a dog. We went there a couple of times to find out the right pet for us. The staff were extremely friendly and patient with us by letting us have time with different pets. Finally we were able to make one of them a part of our family. The adoption process and paperwork were hassle-free. Great bunch of people there. Very caring and patient - both to the pets and the people. And the place is exceptionally clean too unlike some of the other places we have been. Keep up the good work. Update: After 8 years, Lexie is still with us as a part of our family.
Went in excited to adopt a cat for our family of 3. After much research and watching the listings, we finally decided on a couple of younger cats we wanted to meet. When we got there, I took my 1 year old in with me to meet the cat and she absolutely loved it. She was gentle and the cat was very mild mannered. We decided that we wanted to go ahead with adoption and after waiting for 5 minutes or so while the older lady with white hair sat in the back behind the glass partition, she finally came out to answer our questions. She repeatedly discouraged our attempts to adopt the cat as my daughter would be too violent and the cat was too fragile. She questioned if I had allowed the cat to meet my daughter and knows that i want the cat but i need to give it a year or two. I kept trying to tell her that we were ready for the cat and combat her remarks but I could tell she wasn’t about to be helping me adopt that cat anytime soon. There was no reason for this woman to be making these judgements about my family and we ultimately left upset and angry at her attitude. Y’all need to do better. We were ready and excited to give that cat a very loving home!
We had a little baby kitten show up at our door meowing at 5am. I called animal services when they opened at 9am and they were very helpful to bring in the kitten. When I arrived, they were very nice and had me fill out a quick and easy form. Super easy and low friction.
They are the best! Always eager to help. They have helped save my yard from hungry armadillos in the summer.. I enjoy picking their brain and learning from them too. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and could not live without them.
Went in with the intention of adopting one of the kittens, but the older lady with glasses who I spoke to was making it very difficult. When I told her I was interested in adopting a kitten, she just stared at me. After a few seconds of her staring at me, I asked what the process was to adopt. She did not answer my question, instead questioned my age. I told her I was 22 (almost 23) as I know you have to be 21 to adopt here. She then started questioning me about where I live and if my apartment complex was pet friendly or not, asking what the pet deposit was (which I’m not sure why she needed to know that). I informed her that my apartment complex was pet friendly and that I was also looking into getting the cat as an emotional support animal. When I told her that, she started laughing at me and shaking her head. During my time there, I was given little to no information about the adoption process, unless I asked. felt very disrespected and it seemed like she was trying to make it very difficult for me to adopt.
(First photo is day 1) We adopted our fur baby from this shelter. She was very shy but gotten used to us quickly! Katie was her name but we changed it to Luna. (Other photos) She is such a blessing and we love her. The shelter was very clean and helped us with every step to take her home. The staff just wants to make sure the animals find a forever home!
