Catherine was communicative in a timely manner and professional. She is organized with all of the paperwork and accommodating if my concerns. Seems to care about the wellness of the animals-in my case a senior cat. Foster dad was also communicative, and kind and informative. He drove to meet us with the cat bringing Rx food to get us started and other supplies. Seem to be doing great work!
The adoption application was a great sign that this team puts effort into their adoption process. Everything after that was downhill. After spending an hour on the application, seeing the cat in person, and talking to housemates, the application was immediately denied for a small, odd reason. As someone who is paid to care for special needs animals, I was surprised to see the application denied so immediately. They kept coming up with reasons that were strange and unreasonable. The emails were two sentences, little information given, unprofessional. The conversations should have been over the phone and they should have asked questions. I've grown up with cats, dogs, horses, and I believe in animals having lifelong homes. For goodness sake, I managed a herd of 14 horses as an assistant director of an equine program--I'm well aware that animals have needs unique to their own situations. It is strange and suspect for them to not even pick up the phone to talk to someone about a cat that has struggled with adoption.
These people are sick!!!! The whole team, especially Mary Fox and Anita. Our family whom undoubtedly takes better care of our animals than they could ever imagine possible and is fully committed to giving our animals an amazing, long, beautiful life quickly went from inquring about an adoption straight to utter disappointment and depression. NO MANNERISMS. Lack of common respect for humans. You could go to the moon and back for your pets, completely disregarded. They will absolutely shame you and call you irresponsible and blacklist you from adopting if your pet passes away due to ungodly, unpreventable, tragic events years later. Don't expect a warm heart here. They are here to shame you and specifically call you irresponsible in the event this happens. They are also vaccine police who don't even go as far as to check all current records.. only what they call and force your vet to tell them(they allot on the application for one vet phone number only and then shame you) trust me we've spend like 10k on 2 dogs in the past year at different vets..they don't do due diligence. Once they make a decision, it's final. If they messed up getting proper records, it's irrelevant, decision was made. Absolutely beastly, savage, disgusting acting for someone trying to make homes for such sweet angels. Shame on fancy cats employees, should find another career if this is the best you can do for great people.
After waiting over a week to hear back about the application I put into adopt a kitten and was denied the chance to adopt because i have a 4 years unspayded dog in my home. Make that make sense. They should advertise this on there website as to not waste people's time . This explains why shelters are so crowded and they are a sad excuse for a rescue and rehoming group
INCREDIBLY disrespectful staff. Kathy, the director, is very rude and spiteful. The lack of communication, harsh tone, and disrespect is unreal. My fiancé and I love cats and put our heart and soul into providing a loving and happy home, and we do not deserve to be treated like this. I highly encourage NOT to use Fancy Cats Rescue if you are considering adopting or fostering.
Can't say enough about this volunteer pet rescue/adoption group. The owner/director genuinely cares about the animals as do all that volunteer, and foster, here. THAT is what's important; ensuring that each furry friend gets a good home! Kudos! Check them out!!🐈 🐕
