We are fosters for Cressie Animal Refuge. That means we get to care for, and love on new puppies about every month or so until they find a forever home. Our children love to play with them and teach them to sit and stay, and to start going outside. This is such a nice organization to save so many dogs! Good for them! The staff is very caring and helpful with the fostering process. If your thinking about adopting or interested in fostering I would highly recommend calling them. Great people. Great organization.

I adopted my puppy through them. It took about three weeks for the whole process, as I adopted out of state. I picked her up at the airport with another family who was picking up their dogs. The owner and her staff were super busy, but they were more easy to reach via text and were great! The reason why a non-shelter address is listed is because there is no central shelter; they have a network of foster homes. This helped because my puppy was already used to living in a home by the time she joined our family. I could tell her foster dad loved her and truly cared for her! Thank you CARE!!

Peggy and her team of wonderful humans do a really good job! She is hard to reach but it’s because she’s too busy saving lives and trying to place them in good homes! We adopted Dexter 3 weeks ago and Peggy was so lovely in the process. It happened within 7 days and she is not messing around in terms of making things happen quickly! At first, my husband and I thought this was a scam, but we were just being jaded NYers! So don’t wait - adopt from Peggy today! Thank you Peggy for our forever best friend!

We adopted this sweet girl from CareTx and are absolutely in love with her precious soul. My advice: Be patient and trust the process. The folks at CareTx are working extremely hard to save these pups, arrange for fosters and ultimately find forever families - there are a lot of moving parts. A huge thank you, from our little family in California, to everyone involved in the process, but especially to Peggy for being so patient with me and Murphy’s fosters for taking such good care of her in the interim. Adopting our sweet girl was the best decision we made. In addition! If you’re interested in adopting one of their amazing rescues, follow the instructions on their website and fill out an application. I find the “1 star” reviews comical as they’re basing the review on phone calls they’ve made, not a review of the adoption process through CareTx. If you’re unhappy with you’re experience, it’s not CareTx, it’s you.

I adopted my boy, Rio (formerly Winslow), from CareTX in Feb 2022. The application process was thorough which I appreciated. I felt like I had all the information I needed from the point at which I was approved, to the point at which Rio arrived in Connecticut. CareTX did a great job answering my questions as quick as they could and I’ll add that I probably had more of them than is typical :) Special shout out to Peggy and Harry for their help. Harry, Peggy and Kelly were great and Winnie (our lab mix) was sent to us in a wonderful condition, super healthy and happy. The fee they charge is more than fare, included vaccinations, spay procedure, and Winnie’s flight to Canada!!
