My dog Sierra had ACL surgery at Alpine Animal hospital. I have nothing but good things to say about Alpine animal hospital. Dr. Willette is the best. During the initial visit he explained everything in detail to me. He called me about 4 or 5 hours after the surgery just to see how Sierra was and to answer any questions that I had. Thank you Dr Willette and thank you Alpine animal hospital. The first photo is the day of the surgery. The second photo is 5 days after the surgery.

I have a second home in South Tahoe, but my 16 year old dog had always been seen at his Bay Area Vet. We were in Tahoe when Luke, who had been declining for some time, became very ill. I called Alpine in what was a state of desperation. They let me bring Luke right in and after examining him, we agreed it was his time. With their help, Luke passed peacefuly that day. "Thankful" is a weak word to express the gratitude I feel for their making room for us and the caring, patient help they gave at such a difficult time. Luke may have been the most gentle, loving creature I'd ever known. He had been there for me for so many years as the one constant through the best and worst of times. They helped so much with my dear dog's suffering, and my own pain. They explained the options for his final disposition and I now have Luke back in a lovely box. I've since received a sympathy card signed by the whole staff which was very thoughtful, considering this was not his regular Vet's office. I'm old, too, so Luke was my last pet. I've had many, and have been to many veterinary offices. If I'd known of Alpine during Luke's lifetime, I'd have taken him there for his regular care. Thank you all so very much. Mark.

Extremely unorganized and tried to double vaccinate my dog. My dog and I moved to town on 2023, so we went to this vet for a wellness exam + heartworm test. They asked me to have my last vet send them vaccination records to check if she was due, so I got them sent over immediately. They stated - upon reviewing them - that my dog was due for 2 vaccines. I thought that was odd so while the Alpine employee excused themself to go retrieve the shots, I reviewed the records myself and let them know upon return that my dog was NOT due for both the vaccines. I got a “oh you’re right!” and luckily saved my dog from a double vaccination situation myself… That should have been my red flag and I should have never returned after that. Now here we are in June 2024 when she is actually due for the vaccines; their notification aligns with the timelines I calendar myself so go in for her vaccines. My dog starts heavily panting for half an hour after the appointment (despite being put right in front of A/C) so I panic and call them to triple check the vaccine date history for me. The receptionist states that my dog “hasn’t been vaccinated here since 2020” and insists that because of this, she was definitely due for the vaccines today. A couple things to note: 1. My records from my last vet (which Alpine was sent during my first visit) indeed confirms she was last vaccinated appropriately in 2023 last (not 2020 like the receptionist stated), and 2. I had never stepped foot into Alpine until 2023 so the “vaccinated here in 2020” comment didn’t make any sense either. In my decade of being a dog owner (multiple dogs), I never dealt with such a disorganized and incompetent operation. Definitely go here if you want all your records mixed up and your animals shot up for fun! I won’t be risking that again.

I love the vet tech and the veterinarians here. I’m always calling afterwards to get paperwork emailed over for pet insurance claims and they are so nice and quick. All the employees I’ve interacted with are intuitive listeners, which is really important because sometimes pet care makes me frazzled, they always know what I need and I appreciate that.

The staff went above and beyond to help me take care of my dog when she had an eye infection and she had a shoulder injury. I could not have administered her drops without them! Awesome customer service.

My dog was injured and they had me come in right away, making room in their busy schedule. The staff was very supportive and helped calm me down as they looked over the injury. My dog is fine, didn't even need any stitches.
