Description The NYMRC has rescued more than 6,000 animals since inception in 1996. Under research efforts, rehabilitated animal release and tracking post-release movement is one of our primary goals. All animals are provided a flipper tag to help identity the animal at future sightings. Post-release movement patterns can be tracked through satellite and radio tags which provides valuable information on the various species as they re-enter the wild as well as supports the success of our rehabilitation efforts. The data obtained assists in furthering our mission of preserving and protecting the marine environment through conservation efforts including education, rehabilitation, and research.

Awesome experience. Wedding Venue. Memorable!!!
I took my 14yo daughter and her friend to an Airbnb experience tour of the NYMRC and was blown away by the operation, the dedication and expertise of staff who definitely aren't making enough money, and the animals themselves who we were able to observe from a safe but near distance. This was an excellent way to spend an hour and a good reminder of what we humans can learn from animals and how we can positively and negatively impact their existence.
We had donations made towards this foundation in memory of my sister, we came to check up on the amount & such and went for a tour. The girl was so knowledgeable on where the animals have came from and what was wrong with them and such. What a great foundation
Love that you can see the animals that are being helped and nursed back to health to be released back into the ocean
Great learning experience on Sea Turtle Conservation work.
The Best!
