Description Allentown Rescue Mission is a team of dedicated employees who meet people where they are at & give them the resources to get where they are going. We are a non-denominational, Christian, social services organization, which provides critically-needed goods & services to homeless & impoverished men, without regard to race, color, creed, national origin or religion. We are not a church, but do cooperate with many churches that are concerned about poverty & homelessness. Our motivation for helping those less fortunate goes back for more than 100 years & is rooted in Jesus Christ. We believe he has given us all a second chance in life-we've been saved, rescued and now get to provide that same hope and renewal to others here in the area.

As with any place there's issues but the hierarchy of this shelter do care, their fair and they go out of their way to help. Their slogan is God is love and I believe they try hard to practice what they preach. Dispite what anyone says, this is the cleanest shelter I have ever seen. The tempiture is comfortable and the beds are really nice. For the other people that have left reviews and said that this shelter is dirty. It's a complete lie. Pastor Paul Pusey

This shelter has one of the worst staff in the country. A lot of their staff is unprofessional. I had given Ceasar my ID and he made a copy and then lost the copy. However, when he asked my ID again he never did say thank or sorry to acknowledge the shelter made an error when they lost the copy. Also Pedro is very rude. While he did a favor for me, he was using profanity. He was also kicking my belongings even though it should be there and then kept looking through my stuff. Also a lot of the staff don’t investigate things and they go based on what another client said.

I use their clean team often…..if you need landscaping or general cleaning done they are a perfect option. They are punctual, reliable and an inexpensive option and they do great work. Call them before you use a landscaper.

The best place on earth. The staff there can do no wrong. Especially, Mike Mauro - pretty much the greatest guy ever! He really cares about ALL of his workers, not just some of them like most other places. Heck, he's so fair that he gives the "Employee of the Month" award to guys who he never really even sees working. Now, how grand is that? And then there's Eric. If there was only one man on the face of the planet who you'd want leading your troops into battle, look no further. I'm actually surprised he hasn't ran for president yet, and not of the ARM, but of the entire United States!

This has been on my report since before Covid: It's one of the worst cases of creating fraudulent Christians by fear mongering I've seen. I also hear they are discouraging people from working so they can collect money on who they shelter, which is unverified but aligns to other recent complaints. They're also guilty of blatant disability gaslighting, which the ending of this drives this home. There's three programs here. I have little info on the addiction recovery program. First program, they force their patrons out early morning, regardless of cold or disabilities. Last I heard, you have to be back by 7pm, unless you're working, or you're out on the street. Reason: for ministry, which would often show videos or sermons of the end times, to scare people into converting. Christians converted this way serve fear, not love. Their Christian Living program requires you to have a job, study the bible, and to give them your paychecks, some never get them back: what can the homeless do, sue? This program also comes with -ahem- "counselors", which take the role but are legally required to say they're not... But they decide what you supposedly need, and you have to follow to stay in the program. This includes a case some time ago of an autistic boy who was in the program, who practiced martial arts and read manga about feudal Japan. She forced him to stop reading them "for his own good". She also said he was the reason he was homeless, that people need to take accountability. He was homeless because his mother was mentally ill, killing his sister when she was 3, abused him until he left for the shelter. This place also has kicked people for having a place to visit for a holiday, such as visiting family overnight who can't take them in.

Excellent experience working with Mike, Brian, and their Clean Team. The 3 man crew and truck arrived on time every day and worked hard moving my father's business equipment. Great rates and staff- beyond my expectations. Thank you for all you do for those down on their luck.
