Description Allentown Rescue Mission is a team of dedicated employees who meet people where they are at & give them the resources to get where they are going. We are a non-denominational, Christian, social services organization, which provides critically-needed goods & services to homeless & impoverished men, without regard to race, color, creed, national origin or religion. We are not a church, but do cooperate with many churches that are concerned about poverty & homelessness. Our motivation for helping those less fortunate goes back for more than 100 years & is rooted in Jesus Christ. We believe he has given us all a second chance in life-we've been saved, rescued and now get to provide that same hope and renewal to others here in the area.

As with any place there's issues but the hierarchy of this shelter do care, their fair and they go out of their way to help. Their slogan is God is love and I believe they try hard to practice what they preach. Dispite what anyone says, this is the cleanest shelter I have ever seen. The tempiture is comfortable and the beds are really nice. For the other people that have left reviews and said that this shelter is dirty. It's a complete lie. Pastor Paul Pusey

This is a 5 star shelter they have rules and they are enforced you have chores and you do not get to lay on your ass all day you are out the door by 8 in the morning and not allowed back in till 4:30 it's real life and it makes sense if you want somewhere safe and clean and a great dinner then Allentown rescue mission should be your first and only stop I will post more as time goes by but for now this is a A+ shelter... By far the Blue print for fixing homelessness. Not all staff do the same thing when it comes to getting your medication which can be confusing usually the office is open in the mornings and 2 people at a time except on Sundays when he will announce medication. other than staff not being all on the same page this place is excellent ive seen and been in many shelters Allentown rescue mission sits at the top of the list. Allentown 8 week program called the transformation program where you get to work for the city of Allentown upon graduation I did the 8 week program they are trying to give you as much information as possible about God and his Character me personally I think they should be more worried about there salvation but to each is all I guess in a class 3 times a day 9:30 to 10:30, 1:00 to 2:00 and then 3:30 to 4:30 in between times you assigned a chore to do to keep you busy unfortunately I was not able to do there cleanteam upon graduation cause I am disabled which would entail having me walk all day picking up trash for the city of Allentown which I find to be a civil rights infraction under the American rights of disabled person. But who knows these days everyone is living with a noose around there neck and you got government following you everywhere if you pop up on there radar somehow. But all in all I give high regards to the program there doing what most are not and that's helping so I give a B+ for the 8 week program. But always remember the only person you can trust is yourself and God, people will let you down always that's because they choose too not of your own merit they work for the man and you do not so always remember that.

This shelter has one of the worst staff in the country. A lot of their staff is unprofessional. I had given Ceasar my ID and he made a copy and then lost the copy. However, when he asked my ID again he never did say thank or sorry to acknowledge the shelter made an error when they lost the copy. Also Pedro is very rude. While he did a favor for me, he was using profanity. He was also kicking my belongings even though it should be there and then kept looking through my stuff. Also a lot of the staff don’t investigate things and they go based on what another client said.
