Description To be the leading advocate for breeds such as pit bulls that often are left behind or ignored by other shelters. To provide high quality medical care for all animals and to offer financial assistance to those pet owners that cannot otherwise afford vet services. To match responsible pet seekers with their next best friend in order to find the perfect home for the animals in our care.
I volunteered there today. What a great group of people who qork and volunteer their time. My group walked dogs. There are so many wonderful dogs that need homes. Cats too. Before you buy from a store go see if one of these sweet dogs would fit your lifestyle.
Very nice place with good people. It is clean and the animals look healthy, clean and with a big space in the kennel. SOME of the staff were friendly and 2 were kind of rude or having a bad day. I recommend you to adopt from this place. Also donate if you can.
Excellent shelter! Everyone was so helpful, even though they stayed busy accepting new deliveries of animals in need. They have dogs and cats, in addition to bunnies, lizards, a lot of animals people have surrendered. I came for two cats and adopted two incredibly sweet cats!! There are at least three well-kept rooms of cats of all ages in addition to kittens where you can meet the cats and pick the personality right for you.
It was a great Experience Here at the Humanitarian Society. They treated us like Family right away and Lizzie being Our perfect Guide, Led us Right to the perfect Fit of Dog for Our family and new Which animal suited us perfectly. Highly recommend that when you come you ask for Lizzie. He’s a great Guy that could tell you which animal or animals will be Just Right for you. The process was Smooth and Everything went according to Plan even though we came in without one. Come to the Humanitarian Society, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
I’ve been using the vet clinic now for over 2 years for vaccinations and my dog’s amputation surgery and I always have had a great experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful even though they seem like their work never stops and they are constantly busy with patients and phone calls. They are prompt to return my call any time I’ve called as well. Today my family and I got to experience the shelter side and we were also impressed. Both my daughter and I commented on how it seems like the staff actually cares where they place their animals and they don’t want them going to homes that won’t be a good fit. The main man who helped us with the meet and greets was extremely knowledgeable on dog behaviors and manners and the environments he would like to see the dogs in. You could really tell he cared about what he was doing and the animals involved. Overall it was a great experience and we walked away with a new family member that everyone in the house got to meet beforehand, including her new dog sister and brother.
My 9-month-old cat is doing great! She was curious and playful as soon as she stepped into the house, and tonight she's sleeping in bed with us. I will recommend the place everyone was nice and helpful. I was there almost every day last week and decided to adopt her, but until today I could take her home because she wasn't spayed yet. I loved going there i can see the cats are well taken care of they seem happy and going there and sitting with the cats is a great feeling if you are having a bad day and you like cats, just go there and play with the cats and maybe find your next best friend.
