I brought Chief in 3 days ago not knowing what had happened to him. Hubby & I went the weekend and could only come up with 3 things as to how he got the injuries and even then, those would've been mysterious. What was definitely noticed was the wounds were getting worse, bigger and it appeared he was getting new wounds. I put this off to we are getting old and missed them. Actually come to find out he was having a reaction to a "stinging" insect bite. The vet took her time and looked him over very well. When she got her hypotheses, she did acknowledge that she had not seen anything like this before so she wasn't 100% for sure. She got this information from a veterinarian website. I was also told that she doesn't usually like to give steroids to dogs but felt it may be needed according to how other vets treated it. The technician took her time cleaning up the wounds the best she could. I couldn't have asked for a better place to bring my baby boy to. They were very patient with him and he was very patient with them. He is a very chill dog anyway. They sent me home with all the medications and cleaning supplies I would need to clean the wounds myself. The tech gave me instructions on what to put where and when. Was it expensive...yes for us it was but, if we had brought him to our old vet I really don't think they would've been as thorough and would definitely be twice the cost. We are so grateful.

Make sure that you are very transparent with what money you have or they will do their best to charge u as much as possible. I wasn’t told that when I came in it was considered “ emergency visit “ Didn’t need a parvo test or fecal matter test nor was I told it would cost 45 for each test and they took my 250$ up to 300 just to barely get any help at all . It would have been 500 to get the medical help she really needed. Needless to say they care more about making a pretty penny than doing what’s right . Not to mention the vet never even entered the room

Love this vet! Everyone cares and service is great , efficient and affordable. Dr Walthall actually cares about your pet whether it's a stray or an old family pet. She actually cares and that's important to me .

This wonderful veterinarian deserves countless stars. I'm out of town and my dogs leg was impaled by a tent stake. I went early to three vets who would not help. Fortunately, La Vega worked me in with no excessive cost. Further, they gave me antibiotics and pain medication. Also, everyone was concerned, friendly and helpful. I can't thank you enough for your help.
