Description City of Waco Animal Control Staff are housed on campus at the Animal Shelter (2032 Circle Road). Animal Control Staff from our shelter partner cities visit frequently for animal drop-off and pick-up through our Sally Port (animal drive-through). When fully staffed, 6 officers respond for the entire City of Waco during business hours and after-hours on an on-call rotation for emergency services. Together, their main goals are promoting animal welfare, upholding the city's ordinances and educating pet owners- including spay/neuter and microchipping. Officers are able to issue written warnings/citations for any violations they observe.

When they make you wait 2weeks to help you save a dog it's pretty 👎 I'm sorry I it's sad that they can't help me get this poor fur baby to the shelter. Help needs medical attention and they said they won't be able to come until next week!!!

I don’t do reviews very often but I am beyond frustrated with this facility. I thought their purpose was to help keep animals out of the shelter and off of the streets but apparently it’s not. I have been trying to get a stray I found into intake through the S.N.I.F.F. Program for over 2 weeks. I have been to the City of Waco intake department multiple times over a span of 2.5 weeks and was always told they were closed or at capacity. Mind you I’m only trying to get this dog through the intake process to take back to my home and foster to keep another dog out of the shelter as I know they are full. I went back for the fifth time today and was told that they could not take her in because it had been past their “time limit”. I work in Temple most days and I’m unable to bring her to Waco from 1-4 M-S although I have made time anyways on a Tuesday, 2 different Fridays and a Saturday to take her over there and was turned away each time. And now there is nothing they can do for me even though THEY turned me away every time. LUCKILY I was able to find an adopter on my own. However, still VERY frustrated and disappointed with the City of Waco intake dept. Maybe they should consider lengthening their hours or allowing exceptions for those that are taking dogs home for foster and keeping them OUT of the shelter.

Waco animal shelter is more likely to euthanize an animal than give it any medical treatment or find it a home. They should work more with local wildlife rehabilitation centers and stop using taxpayer money to kill animals that are no threat to anyone.

Went in and was greeted by Annie. Very sweet. Great customer service. She seems truly happy to serve the public and help match up the perfect pet for the perfect family. I had a few questions and she was very patient with answering them. She told me it would be a few minutes wait for a walk through and kept me updated with the on goings the entire time. Definitely go check it out and add a new baby to the family.

No one calls back when reporting aggressive dogs chasing kids and killing cats. Animal control actually asked me to put these aggressive dogs back in their yard and get bit doing it. This place is a joke and doesn't care about aggressive dogs in your neighborhood.

Today I called about surrendering an animal. Christina was very rude, and had a nasty attitude. I was not rude to her. I was only trying to gather the proper information. I told her I have children to take care of and could not take care of the animals. She was not helpful on resources. She informed me she was the supervisor. For her to be a supervisor she was not professional. She also sent the police to my home, and told them I could not care for my children. The officers did not come in and could hear and see my children was cared for. So since I called and complained, she sent law enforcement to my home. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I also informed her manager Trey Busby. I am not happy with the experience today.
