Tara is amazing! It was our anxious, 70 pound puppy's first grooming appointment ever and she was so kind and gentle with him. I cannot say enough good things. They even got him a tie ❤️
My pup, XENA, has been going to Durango Pet Resort for a year now, for both Doggie Day Care and Boarding. She LOVES it there, and we BOTH love the care and attention the staff give her (Alex, Alisha, Asha, Emily, Hannah, Joseph, Reyna, Sarah, etc). DPR is our "Forever Place" for boarding and play time with Friends!
This place rocks, have used them a number of times for boarding and always satisfied with quality of care and pricing. Just tried them for Grooming since my dog was boarded for a week anyways. Tara did amazing job and very much stayed in touch and communicated regarding specifics to make sure we were happy. Great staff, the gentleman behind counter who I forget his name is super nice and helpful.
We have used Durango Pet Resort for both grooming and boarding recently. Boarding was reasonably priced but we also had a very small dog there and it probably stressed her out for that reason as well as being away. She had diarrhea and it got all over her personal things which were a mess upon her return. They stated their laundry wasn't great so her bed was in terrible shape, and we couldn't salvage it after the fact. Some chew toys went missing but at the same token new this might be a possibility. We did note this when we checked out and was told we'd get a call back and never did. This experience was 60/40 for me at the time. I would probably have considered using them again, being more experienced with this experience and knowing what to anticipate would help. We had asked for a grooming appointment and requested end of day when it was originally made. For one, I'm allergic to dogs and ours is a poodle which is non-allergic. We wanted to make sure she was clean when we picked her up and it didn't exactly work out that way but she was fine when picking her up. It was a good service to have after a week's stay. She didn't look exactly like what we wanted but that's grooming for you, especially someone's first time. We didn't get a chance to talk to the groomer ahead of time and confirm anything, but we were happy with this experience. I requested another grooming appointment this week and was denied. Not only were we denied but I was blasted in the email sent by Hannah, stating we "were clearly unhappy with all of our services. We will not be offering our services to you again, neither boarding nor grooming.". I thought this was extremely rude and not sure where all of this came from. We didn't get a chance to talk to anyone about our experience except the person at check out. My brief on this experience, they seem to be super sensitive to constructive criticism in the grooming department. It sounds like they want to do things their way, instead of the pet Owner's way. They probably have enough business that they don't need you and there is apparently a lack of care about how you feel about their services. Its probably a better facility for larger dogs with regards to boarding and care. We had our 7 month old toy puppy poodle there and it wasn't great for her. Edit: I did not treat staff poorly but I did have several questions for them that could not be answered - for them, I think this was awkward. I want to clarify, I did not berate, yell or verbally attack your staff. But I was clearly surprised and was trying to get clarity on the situation I was being handed. I also feel if this business had proper working facilities, their staff wouldn't be put in these positions. It appeared my expectations were too high, but at the same token I've boarded my pet in several boarding facilities and was shocked at how I and my pet were treated; I had a small 8lb toy poodle, her personal belongings destroyed, and it was apparent my pet had been living in her own feces the whole time she was there. Her bed was covered in feces still upon return to me and they told me they had even washed her bed. If you want a pleasant response from your clientele, you should provide a pleasant experience for them.
We absolutely love this place. Dogs are well cared for and seem tired at pick up. The staff is very friendly and able to accommodate us, even with flight delays! 10/10 recommend!
I love these people but more importantly - my dog Cowboy loves them more. Cowboy has been going here for daycare, for about a year and they take such good care of him. Everyone who works here is genuine and wonderful. They show me pictures of him playing with his new friends and I can tell they really like working here - which matters. The owner is great and very attentive to any questions or concerns. If you're considering taking your dog to daycare - I highly recommend.
