Description We are a foster based dog rescue and all our animals live in homes! We are available via phone during our weekday hours, and available by appointment on Saturdays. You must have an appointment to meet animals after we receive an application. Please call with questions after viewing the process on our website. Our mission is to rescue, foster, and find permanent loving homes for abandoned dogs and puppies in La Plata County and the rural Four Corners, while also raising awareness for spay and neuter and the proper stewardship of animals. NOTE: PAR is not a public intake shelter. We cannot take owner surrenders on demand. Thank you.

Lisa Parker Puppies genuinely and fully care and love the puppies they have and go above and beyond to find a best fit home for them. They help both pups and owners to be successful. They provide spay/neuter and the first rounds of vaccines on their dime, as well as offer free training classes. These classes are huge for both the pups and the owners education. PAR works so hard to create true forever homes and are incredible easy and kind to work with through the process. We have both fostered for them and adopted from them and I continue to be amazed by their character. It is based on true love for these pups!

I am absolutely thrilled to share my experience adopting my puppy, Darla Mae, from Lisa Parker Puppies! From the very first interaction, Lisa was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. You can tell she has a genuine passion for the well-being of her puppies. The facility was clean and organized, with plenty of space for the puppies to play and socialize. It was heartwarming to see how well the puppies were treated and cared for. Darla Mae has settled into our home wonderfully; she is playful, affectionate, and full of life. We adopted a dog Pixie one year ago and last week adopted August. Pixie has been the best dog we’ve had. The foster family did a great job with her. We had so much trust & confidence in PAR. We have adopted two dogs from PAR over the years and both times had an absolutely lovely experience. Lisa is a great resource and everyone that fosters with PAR, that we have met, seems to be excellent. Our first dog had quite a bit of training before we were able to adopt him and it was great to see the level of care given to make sure he was as ready as he could be for his forever home. Our second dog lived with a wonderful and caring foster. With the second, we took advantage of the dog training class that PAR includes in the adoption fee and we are really glad we did. We learned a lot not only for our newest family member, but for our other dog as well. All around I would absolutely recommend adopting from PAR!

Lisa & her crew at Parkers Animal Rescue are AMAZING. I have never met anyone like Lisa who has so much wisdom about animals, specifically with animal behavior, and how to work with them in a good way. Not to mention she is so generous with her time. My boyfriend and I invested in a dog as our new family member. She was very patient with us as first time dog owners. She talked with us, shared resources, and allowed us to meet with our new dog a few times to make 100% sure that she was the one. Investing in a pet was a huge step for us and we are so lucky to have received the support that we did from the people at PAR

What an extraordinary organization PAR is. They go over and beyond to make sure that the pet is perfect for the adoptee. These wonderful fur babies are well adjusted and truly ready for their forever homes. Everything is done to make sure that the meet and greets are comfortable and that the matches are good.
