I will not be bringing my dog back here again. < TLDR: I have a shy and timid rescue dog so I thought JoJo's K9 would be perfect since they started out as a rescue shelter. The last time I picked up my dog, the staff handled him in an improper, unsafe and unprofessional way in front of me. I'm worried about how he's treated when I'm not there.> As someone with a rescue dog who came from a bad situation and is very timid and cautious around people, I needed to find a daycare/boarding location that has experience and patience working with rescues. I was delighted to learn that JoJo's K9 Club started off as a rescue and evolved into a large facility for dogs to be cared for and have fun with one another. I know it takes my dog more time than others to feel comfortable in a new place and with new people but he's capable of getting comfortable very quickly if he's shown kindness and patience. So I made time to bring him for daycare at least every 2 weeks for a couple of months before a longer stay overnight. By that time, I would definitely expect him to feel more comfortable and the staff to understand how to handle him, especially with me there to tell them about his behavior/traits. But the last time I picked him up from daycare, a male staff member brought him out to the lobby on a slip lead instead of his harness telling me "he wouldn't sit still." ... I've never heard that leaving daycare before. So I try to take the harness from the staff member to put it on my dog and the staff member tried to abruptly grab my dog (which he should know not to do since they've been working together for a couple of months) and that caused my dog to try to get away from him but the staff member kept pulling the slip lead around my dogs neck, choking him. So I quickly crouch down to my dog's level to calm him and proceed to put on the harness at which point the staff member is, for some reason, still trying to pull it off of his head and just tightening the lead around my dog's neck more. So I have to tell the staff member to wait for me to put on his harness and I will give him back the slip lead. After that, we left and I will never go back. I don't even know if my dog got to go outside to play since there were no photos of him posted that day. He could've been anxious and jumpy if he was sitting locked up there all day. I brought my dog to have fun, be safe, and cared for but if he was mistreated that way while I was right there, I'm genuinely concerned about what happens when I'm not. Edit: I appreciate the owner trying explain why their staff was pulling my dog by the neck in the safest and least stressful way for him. And the explanation would be nice and make sense if it actually happened. My dog actually started going past me and to the door which is when he was pulled back by the male staff member and the staff tried to grab him. That's when he tried to run away from the staff and faced the back of the lobby towards the playroom and I started to put on his harness. If it was unsafe for the staff to drop the slip lead in the lobby since there were other people and he could have run out the door, I'm confused about why the staff would try to pull the slip lead off of him when his harness isn't even fastened yet. Handing the slip lead to me or waiting for his harness to be put on is safer than expecting him to calmly put on a harness while being choked. If there's no trust, I don't see how I can return. It's unfortunate for Han too because I think there were some days he did enjoy himself but not all of them.
I'm sure this is a great place for dog daycare because the staff was really nice and the dogs were excited to come in. But for dog grooming this is not your place. They offer lower rates to cut the hair and it shows with the haircut. So if you're looking for a dog groomer then I would recommend elsewhere and pay a little more.
Disrespectful, rude and arrogant staff! We have been taking our dog to this place for a few years now. We missed a couple of appointments due to some family emergency and our travel outside the country. They asked us to pay cancellation fees and we were ok with it. Took an appointment and landed up there on the way to work just to be told that he doesn’t have an appointment because apparently I hung up their call. They do not have any flexibility to understand that people may fall sick, may have work or may be attending a family member’s funeral across the ocean. They think that we should be on red alert and prioritize the dog’s grooming appointment while dealing with all the other issues in our lives. Everything thing would have been ok but the reception lady’s rude behavior was the worst. When I was trying to explain her our problems and family bereavement, she was so disrespectful, insulting and nodding her head as if I was lying about everything. If they are so disrespectful to the community which is giving them business and show such arrogance, they won’t really last very long. Never taking our dog back there.
Great Service and a Great staff. My dogs love this place. They take good care of our dogs and the rates are reasonable. Check them out you will be happy with the choice you made.
my sister use this doggie day care and they love it . not sure but think they offer a wide variety of services.
Everyone is always so great. My puppy was initially terrified and I was so worried about leaving him while we were on vacation. But they worked out a plan to get him comfortable through short day boarding visits and then sent me text messages throughout our vacation to let me know how he was doing.
