I cannot put into words how grateful I am for this place. I brought my miniature dachshund in after she had been attacked my a Dalmatian. I was absolutely HYSTERICAL. They took her back immediately and brought us into a room to wait. They were very upfront about cost, risks and treatment all while being caring and compassionate. My girl had to have surgery and was there for 2 nights. They allowed me to come in and visit with her when I wasn’t able to take her home after the first night. The communication was nothing less than impeccable the entire time. My girl is doing great, but even if the outcome would have been less than favorable, I would have still been so grateful for how this place made such a tragic day a little easier. I can’t thank everyone enough. From the front staff, the vet techs and the vets that cared for my girl.

Our dog, Tuukka, went from being his normal hyper self to an extremely lethargic and clearly sick dog with no warning. We brought him into CAVES and he was quickly seen by the nurse who was compassionate while also being honest with us. Upon her first examination of him, she let us know that she was concerned - it was very nice to be validated. She brought him back for an ultrasound and Dr. Woo came in to let us know that there was fluid surrounding his heart. He gave us our options while letting us know that even if we try to treat him, he likely won’t make it. Every pet parent has the worry in the back of their mind when going to the e-vet that they are going to be given the run around just for the worst outcome anyway. We sincerely appreciated the honesty from the CAVES team as it made our extremely difficult decision a bit easier. When it came to saying goodbye, the team was extremely compassionate and gave us plenty of time - even letting us wait for my mom to come and say goodbye to him. While our hearts were broken to leave without Tuukka, we are so thankful for the care he received in his final moments.

A couple weekends ago, our beloved dog Lucy needed urgent care due to her sudden decline in health, characterized by wobbliness and a loss of appetite. We took her to the emergency vet at CAVES, where she received overnight care. The team was exceptional in administering the necessary fluids and medications to make her as comfortable as possible. Throughout our ordeal, the staff was not only professional but extremely compassionate. They were clear and thorough in explaining the care process and the options available to us, which was immensely reassuring during such a stressful time. Their detailed guidance helped us understand every step and made a difficult situation slightly more bearable. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of everyone involved, Lucy's condition did not improve. We faced the heartbreaking decision to put her to rest after a follow-up with her regular vet that Monday. While this was an incredibly tough decision, we are grateful to the CAVES team for their dedication and tender care of Lucy during her final days. We deeply miss Lucy but are thankful for the empathy and expertise of the CAVES staff that stood by us when we needed it most.

CAVES has been great to us. We seem to end up there a little too often lately but every time we are at CAVES we are greeted with a warm welcome. We have seen doctors through the emergency department, neurology and Internal medicine. All departments we have seen have been wonderful. The doctors, Techs and front end staff are all great people that clearly love their patients. Thanks for taking such great care of Fritz and Mr. Cheeks on their worst days.

Our senior dog was recommended and transferred to VCA caves concord nh from another smaller emergency hospital. The staff in the ICU unit are fantastic from the techs/nurses/physicians. We never felt rushed and had ample time to ask questions. We are so appreciative of the text message updates w/ pictures! The physicians were so optimistic when we were not. We are very thankful for this hospital and would highly recommend if needed. With love Duke, Richard and Danielle Williams from Chelmsford MA

Place is a joke. Got there at 6pm, dog needed a few stiches in the ear. They brought us into a room. Vet tech came in did a look over. Didn't even clean the wound. Told us they would be with us as soon as they can. 5 hours later with no updates or check ins on us or the dog, apologized for the wait. Took the dog out back, came back and proceeded to tell us it would be 2800 for stiches. Never going back, do not recommend, I will be calling the BBB
