My wife and adopted a dog from the shelter on Saturday. Our first Major Surprise was how absolutely spotless the entire facility was and absent from the “usual smells”! We had to wait a few minutes to see the available dogs because of customers already there but once it was our turn, we were the focus of the attendant. Once we decided to adopt Molly, a German Shepherd mix, the process was quick, easy and very professional with a personal touch!! Thank you all!!

I adopted the sweetest little kitten there this past weekend during one of their discount adoption events. We named him Bogart after the actor. He joins Tracey (after the actor Spencer Tracy) who we adopted here four years ago.

The staff, sorry I can’t remember the names but they were willing to go above everything for their fur babies. They were the friendliest I have ever experienced! I was recently witness to a set of kittens that had been dropped at the Rowan Country shelter that were less than 24 hrs old. Their mama had abandoned them. Jessica H coordinated with a rescue volunteer to make sure that those kittens had 24 hr care (the shelter doesn’t have the resources) and feedings in order to give them the best possible chances of survival. I was really amazed at the genuine concern and the length that she and the volunteer went to provide these services.

We have rescued two amazing dogs from here and the process was simple and quick. The staff was great and you can tell how passionate they are about what they do. I can promise you that some of these lowly ranked reviews are completely inaccurate and they likely left a bad review because they didn't go through the proper process of applying for a rescue, and rather, they just showed up to the shelter. The staff here has always been pleasant to work with and they do everything in their power to find animals a good home.
