Been coming here for quite a few years now- maybe 8 years? Great vets and techs. I consider their pricing to be fair. Much cheaper than a different location I used to go to. A few things I appreciate that some may find off-putting: 1. Vaccines for dogs are given in the back. Do not expect them to provide vaccines in the rooms. I appreciate this, as I don't have to try to wrangle my dogs, and my dogs aren't trying to be protective while I'm near the scary strangers. 2. The vets are direct and are very "as a matter of fact" when providing their input and suggestions. I appreciate this, as I know I'm going to get all the info I need without any sugar coating - so I truly know I'm leaving with everything I need to know. Some find this "a bit aggressive". But what needs to be understood is that they have the pets' best interests at heart. That's their job. We had one of our 10 year old pups put down here. The staff was so sweet and soft spoken, and patient with us through it all. About a month later, we received a letter in the mail with prints of our pups paws and nose. ❤️
I brought my 15 year old kitty in today. She hasn't been doing well. Unfortunately she didn't make it home. The entire staff was very sensitive and caring to me and my husband. They were also gentle with my kitty. I'm heartbroken, but the staff brought us comfort.
Our Bassett hound had eye surgery and then an infected nail. We are working in the National Forest and the drive is almost 3 hours...but we'll worth it. The vet is amazing and our dog loves him.
We took our 11 year old dog here last week. He was having a hard time walking, looked like he was in pain and was panting heavily. All of this happened within a matter of 24 hours. When the vet came in, he asked us what was wrong. We told him and then he immediately went into what they look for in quality of life for an animal. He told us it was likely cancer. When my husband asked if he thinks we should put him down the vet said it seems like it's his time. At this point he hadn't even touched my dog. He didn't offer to do any tests. He didn't check him AT ALL! I wasn't ready to say good bye so we said we'd make an apt in a few days. We gave my dog pain pills for 2 days to help, and now he has been without pain pills for 5 days. He is completely back to his normal self. Thank goodness I didn't put him down like the vet was suggesting. I feel like the vet jumped the gun. Glad I trusted my gut.
Be cautious of going here. The dr. Kept asking for us to do blood work over and over because he wasn’t able to determine if my dog has non regenerative anemia. We ended up losing our dog two months later to kidney failure which the vet at another pet hospital said he already had for a while.
Armstrong Vet has one of the largest waiting rooms of any vets in the Fresno and Clovis area. It is very comfortable and chic. Even with several assistants at the front desk, you do have to wait a little bit but Dr. Reyes was worth the wait. She was warm and friendly with my dog and very knowledgeable. I fully believe that my dog was well taken care of during his surgery and the lab work was thorough. We were sent home with medications that were ready at pick-up and good instructions for follow-up care. We'll see them again in a couple of weeks.
