We went to the Toms River Animal shelter to look at their doggies and donate a little dog food. The girls there were very friendly and a pleasure to talk too. We took the tour, (which you must make an appointment for), the doggies were extremely excited to see us. Our guide was very knowledgeable of all the animals we looked at. We haven't made our decision yet, but you should definitely go and find your "furever" pet. It's always best to rescue these animals. All of our pets over the years were rescues. You'll find they are so loyal, loving and appreciative. They know. So call, and make an appointment. Those animals really need your love and care.

I'm so sad that this beautiful facility is being treated so unfairly by the current mayor. We desperately need this shelter to care for our homeless furry friends until they find their forever homes. The people who work there, paid and volunteers, have a heart for these animals and do a wonderful job housing, loving, and caring for them. We must do whatever us need necessary to oust this mayor. He is harming our community in so many ways, and when he feels the need to go after our shelter, trying to shut it down, it says a lot about his character. This shelter needs to remain open and allowed to do the job it was built to do.

I adopted my cat Java from here back in February when she was around six months old. She is happy, healthy, and well-socialized. She received all of her vaccinations and was spayed beforehand. This shelter cares about the animals and their welfare, and if you live in the area is a great place to look to adopt.

Very nice people to deal with .I went their for a dog and ending up getting a wonderful cat .the people their are very understanding and work with u .I would recommend people to go their and find your new pet .the place is very very clean and they take very good care of the pets .

This is a picture of my Dog Jada aka Missie that I adopted from the Toms River Animal Shelter 15 Years ago. She recently passed 2 Weeks ago due to many Issues. Her Brother misses her Terribly as do the rest of our family. I will be stopping by the Shelter to find another Pit mix Female adult Dog. A sweet Female that gets along with everyone. God bless 🙏.

Thank you to all the knowledgeable people that work here! Our family was able to adopt this beautiful dog, Mylah, within a week of meeting her! They made it pleasurable and very firm with the whole adoption process!! Mylah loves her new home !
