Description Gaines Shoal Animal Clinic is a full-service veterinary clinic for dogs and cats. In addition, we work with local animal rescue groups, such as Athens Canine Rescue, PAWS, Athens Area Human Society, Athens Clarke County Animal Shelter, and Oconee County Animal Control, to improve the welfare of pets and animals in the Athens area. The mission of Gaines Shoal Animal Clinic is to create a caring, lasting bond with our clients and patients by providing the highest quality veterinary care with excellent client education and service.

I have had nothing but an amazing experience! Mila (vet tech) and Dr. Rankin have been thoughtful, patient, and compassionate. I feel informed to make the best decision for my pet and I know they have his best interest in mind. We have had to visit every month for the last 3 months due to a chronic ear issue and each time, Mila and Dr. Rankin go out of their way to make it the most pleasant experience it can be for my baby, who is very sacred!

I had a great experience with Dr. Fulford and the staff. I needed to bring my puppy in to be seen but it was very close to closing time. The staff were wonderful, very sweet, and did a full work up even though it was close to closing time. I was very appreciative of the clinic being open to 8 pm as our usual vet was closed by that time. Very appreciative of the excellent treatment and the staff staying almost 1 hour after closing to attend to our puppy. Will definitely recommend and return in the future if needed.

BEST ANIMAL CLINIC IN ATHENS ! Unfortunately for me, I had to bring my fur baby here to lay him to rest. The staff was so loving and so understanding. No apathy, true empathy. Amazing experience!!! All of the staff were very nice and friendly, as well as super informative about every step of my visit! Dr. Rankin (spell check) was very sweet and gentle with my fur baby! I’m so happy that I chose this vet!
