I lost my sweet doggy girl Mia 3 weeks ago today. It was my first time ever experiencing losing a pet like this and my heart still aches so so so much. On March 11th my family and I noticed Mia had been bloated all weekend and it was getting worse, so we took her to VCA – Ontario. I called ahead to let them know my sweet girl was bloated and they knew it was an emergency and took her in quickly. Unfortunately, there was not a permanent solution to help my sweet girl Mia and she was suffering badly. We made the difficult decision to euthanize her. It was an incredibly sad and heart-breaking moment, but I am thankful for the kind and empathic staff at VCA – Ontario. They took amazing care of my Mia girl, and they were so patient, kind, empathetic towards my family and I during this difficult time. Losing a pet will never be an easy experience, but I thank the staff at VCA- Ontario for their effort in making it as smooth and gentle as possible. May you Rest in Peace my sweet baby girl Mia, I love you so much.
I really question the negative reviews on this place. My husband and I had to take our cavapoo in for an emergency visit. He had a variety of health issues but he was clearly in distress. The staff at VCA were phenomenal and took great care of us and our Oscar. Unfortunately, we made the difficult decision to end his pain. Dr Wu and the team were so heartwarming and caring through the whole process. I’m crushed I didn’t have more time with my old man but I’m thankful for the caring team at VCA. They made a very difficult situation as heartwarming as possible. Thanks, Dr Wu.❤️ Fly high Oscar. I’ll miss you buddy.
Unfortunately I only know about the great vets and techs due to a tragedy, but they were so compassionate and understanding it made a horrible night a little softer… I unfortunately lost my little deaf heeler, Laika, due to an obstruction back in March. As devastating as it was, Dr. Wu was so kind and he went above and beyond to accommodate my restrictive budget. And I wish I could recall the name of the tech that hugged and cried with me as they stabilized Laika so I could say goodbye, she was absolutely amazing 💗💗 I’ll forever be grateful that we were able to give her a compassionate end
I’m extremely disappointed with our experience at VCA. We brought our dog in after he was severely attacked by two large dogs, and the treatment and pricing we were quoted were outrageous. The veterinarian estimated that the necessary surgeries would cost between $15,000 and $20,000 but admitted he wasn’t a board-certified surgeon and couldn’t perform them. He then quoted us around $10,000 for any immediate treatment without the surgeries, or he suggested the alternative might be euthanasia due to the costs. My family and I were devastated at the prospect of having to put our dog down simply because of financial reasons. Thankfully, we decided to seek a second opinion in Tijuana. There, Dr. Vet Pet Emergency stabilized our dog, performed surgery within 30 minutes of arrival, and the entire cost was no more than $900. Despite informing VCA that we were taking our dog to Tijuana for further care, they still attempted to charge us $2,000 just for a work-up. Their proposed treatments seemed irrelevant to our urgent needs. It felt like their primary focus was on money rather than compassionate care. We had been regular clients at VCA for years, and it’s disappointing to see how their approach seems to have shifted. They even tried to guilt us into staying rather than exploring more affordable options. If you’re facing a similar situation, don’t give up on your pet due to costs—there are better options out there for both care and pricing.
I had a 10 day old kitten that had an abscess on its stomach where the umbilical cord fell off. It was starting to look green and I went to VCA. After checking in there was a wait, but that was to be expected. While I was waiting, the staff was regularly giving different people updates on their pets and wait times. They even brought a blanket for a dog to lay on instead of the hard floor. Without getting into the issues, the staff took my kitten and was communicative with me about it. They were able to fix it up and gave me antibiotics for it. The total price was reasonable. My kitten is now 4 months old and is healthy and doing well. Thank you!
Never have I met a more thorough, compassionate and pleasant Doctor than Dr Wachowiak. We drove over an hour to see this specialist and the office has been very friendly, very organized, got us an earlier appointment when our dog has been in excruciating pain. The exam rooms are clean. This experience has far exceeded our expectations and we're very satisfied.
