I switched to Irvington Pet Hospital earlier this year; I was initially concerned over some bad ratings online but have had amazing experiences there so far with the new ownership/team. I never had any issues scheduling appointments and was even able to get a same day appointment one time for an urgent matter. The staff is very friendly and professional. I enjoyed my interactions with the technicians and appreciate how gentle they were with my pet. Dr. Kasuya is extremely knowledgeable; he genuinely cares about pets and was always very thorough in examining, diagnosing, and treating my dog. Overall, I’m glad I made the switch to this clinic and would highly recommend for both their medical expertise and customer relations.
Save your money and take your beloved pet elsewhere. I've read other posts about this place regarding their exorbitant fees, and I completely agree! Took my dog there 3 times in two months for an ear infection. First visit was $800+, second visit was $500+, and yesterday, third visit, they quoted us $1200+ for a sedated ear cleaning (we paid $500+ for that at another vet for the same treatment and the follow up visit was only $35). Over $2500 later, and our dog still is not well. They finally prescribed Amoxicillin yesterday. It seems that they are allowing the dog to stay sick so that they can keep getting our money. Our dog has had her annual check ups and has had two surgeries over the years. Trust me, we are very familiar with fees having cared for her over the years including taking her to the emergency, get blood tests, ultrasounds, and other things. Looking at all our vet bills, this place is the ABSOLUTE WORST when it comes to pricing. We used to go there when Dr. Rue owned the place, and in fact, my daughter worked there. Dr. Rue was the best. We decided to try it under the new ownership. It has been an awful experience.
Friendly staff and doctor. Our dog had vaccinations here. Took our dog here later in the year for an ear infection. Appointment was easy to arrange. Doctor and nurse was thorough in their work. Pricing is transparent.
You find out about your vet in emergencies and Irvington is 2 for 2. They tried to save my old dog who had tumors on her spleen, one had ruptured. Dr. Rue was honest and said it was 50-50. 2.5-hour surgery to remove tumors and spleen. She had cancer and lived for another 5-6 week. They tried as hard as they could. Three months ago, dog horribly attacked and got 4 bad puncture wounds. Saw her immediately and she was basically better in 2-3 weeks. Did excellent work to clean and drain wounds. Have used them for 7 years; you can tell how much the staff loves pets.
Brought my dog here for an ear infection. She normally sees a vet in TX, but we have visiting out in CA for a couple months. After 3 "follow-up" appointments that cost $300-$600 each, they tell me that a sedated ear cleaning will cost $1200. I told them that we'd rather wait till we get back to TX. The last time we got sedated ear cleaning was $600 at another clinic, and that was done on the first visit. The follow up appointment w/medication was $75.
Xrays were taken of my dog over a year ago at Irvington Vet Hospital. They said my dog was experiencing limping due to arthritis. They failed to tell me that the xrays they took also showed my dog had a fractured bone in her foot. I brought this up to staff and they would not refund my money for xrays so I could go get a complete xray with a complete diagnosis somewhere else. I have emails from Vet saying there is a fracture and surgery would be needed by a specialist. I held this hospital with highest regards when Dr. Rue was running. I am glad I found a different Veterinary Hospital that I can trust and who treally cares about my pet.
