I have to say that I was a little nervous about contacting them for help but it’s been a delightful experience so far. They are very caring and went out of their way to try and help me find some help closer to where I live which I thought was very thoughtful. When I was unable to find the help I needed near by they were able help me with my babies. Everyone needs a little help sometimes I’m so glad The Pongo Fund was there when I needed it. They are definitely going to make my life less stressful, going forward I can’t think them enough for the help that they are giving me.
The Pongo Fund is such an excellent and much needed community service for pet owners. Larry and all the volunteers are helpful, friendly, and amazing. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, don't hesitate to contact them. Please visit their informative and inspiring website for more information and heart warming stories.
I’ve had a really hard year and a half after getting injured when I was working as an independent contractor and didn’t have access to unemployment, sick pay, or short term disability benefits. I’ve been through so much and am just trying to survive right now to keep a roof over our heads and prevent my car from being repossessed. I’ve been struggling with depression and trying to get out of a position of financial hardship and the kind folks at The Pongo Fund have helped me to keep kibble in the dishes of my pups, who are my sole reason for waking up in the morning. I never thought I would be in such a dire situation to need to ask for help, but SNAP doesn’t cover pet food and there are not many food banks that have dog food and I’m ashamed to even have to ask for help, but I’m so glad that I reached out to them. They provide quality food for pets and really care about the animals. If you find yourself needing help, I recommend reaching out to them to see if they can help you and your pets. I’m so grateful for Larry and the Pongo Fund team.
Amazing service when I truly needed it! ’m disabled with a female mobility dog that pulls my wheelchair. She had become pregnant and I had no ability to care for puppies or pay for a spay…no local non-profit could help me within several months. After returning one phone call of mine, The Pongo Fund instructed me to call no one else, as they would make this happen for me. 3 days later my dog was spayed and tagged with updated shots. Thank you Pango Fund!
The Pongo Fund has helped me tremendously to care for Bailey, my 75# yellow lab. That's a lot of kibble!! The program is organized and everyone is very helpful and friendly. Bailey and I really appreciate all of the Volunteers at the Pongo Fund.
I have followed the Pongo Fund for years, through Larry's online stories. Those stories bear witness to incredible heartbreak, people in crisis, elderly citizens doing their best with incredibly limited resources out of concern and love for their pets. But they also speak to the deep well of kindness and compassion from which the Pongo Fund responds to these incidents of need, crisis and often heart wrenching cicumstances. The stories stir anyone with a love for animals and humanity to give what they can. In the last two months I have had two opportunities to give time, hands on, helping the Pongo team pack kibble. Sounds mundane and tedious. But surprisingly, it is not. The Pongo Fund staff who I believe are most all volunteers, are hilarious and so hard working, they encourage laughter, and in the short time I was there, made me and my family and friends feel appreciated, connected to the bigger mission. Standing at the table, careful to keep the kibble in the bin or the bag but not the floor, those stories replayed in my head. Whether you have time to volunteer, or can offer financial resources, Pongo Fund is great people doing important, often invisible work.
