Description SFBayArea based California Chins - Chinchilla Rescue (cachins.org & chinchillarescue.org) is a dedicated "chinchilla only" rescue group founded and run by California Chins, a 501(c)3 organization originally founded by Lani Ritchey, Betti Cogswell, and Roxane Beeman. Our goal is to provide information to people interested in chinchillas, adopting chinchillas as well as, a safe place for chinchillas who needs a new home. Many chinchillas are being lost, abandoned or surrendered by owners no longer able to care for them. We take care of their physical and emotional needs so that they may find happy, loving, forever homes.

It's like walking into a fluffy Wonderland and furry friends. This place came through for us during the major heat wave in the summer of 2022 when we couldn't keep the heat inside our house below 80. Our chin stayed cool and healthy and is now back home safe with us.

Love this rescue organization! Mike and Holly really care about the chinchillas. They provide affordable adoption fees, and also provide a care package! They are very knowledgeable, and take their time explaining everything to you. They also have boarding services for chinchillas too. Truly recommended if you are looking to add an chinchilla to your family!

I am so impressed. This is a small private shelter, but gosh, they are so efficient and professional! It's really impressive how much two nice people can make to improve the situation around. They are so great in helping both chinchillas in need and people who want to adopt :).
