Description Calusa Crossing Animal Hospital began serving the West Kendall community with small animal medicine and surgery in the spring of 1989 at 11266 SW 137 Ave. Calusa’s staff is privileged to have some of the best clients and patients in the area. After 22 years, our clinic was faced with outgrowing the facility and began looking for a better location in West Kendall. We found our new animal hospital site at 12801 SW 134 Court and moved in July of 2011. Everyone is excited to have the convenience of private parking, state of the art equipment, and twice the space to share with our clients.

We’ve been bringing our family animals here for probably 10 years now. Dr. Woodby is sincere and to the point, he is a genuine veterinarian and very knowledgable. The office staff and techs are always super sweet and kind. My little girl was coughing, and showing signs of being sick - I was able to get her an appointment within two hours! Very happy as usual with this office. I’ve referred multiple friends/family & will continue to do so!

The most unprofessional experience I have had with a vet. The staff is great and caring. But Dr. Shaffer is another story. I was honest and personally came in to discuss my contraints and see what could be done and was honest that I may need a second opinion. His response, that he did not have patience [for me I suppose]. If he truly cared about my pet he would have understood that I was doing the right thing by discussing my situation with him and being responsible by seeking medication while I took my pet for a second opinion. I have not once written a review but this is the most disgusting behavior I have experienced in my life. I will never step foot in Caulsa Crossings with any of my pets.

I am beyond impressed at how the doctors and staff at Calusa go above and beyond to provide such personal care for our Frenchie. Our dog suffers from major anxiety that causes his breathing to elevate to dangerous levels which is a huge concern to us. To counter this the staff works with us each time to make sure that anxiety is mitigated by even allowing us to come alongside them as they perform care to our dog. We are so extremely thankful for them making sure we receive the best of care in a loving and caring way. Thank you Calusa !!! We are so grateful for you.

My sweet healthy boy Coco, goes here for all his appointments, the office is very nice and friendly. His little sister Frvis, passed last week and the office made every step comfortable for us to take such harsh route as she was hypoglycemic and in pain. They even reached out through mail to give us their condolences. I have nothing but great things i can say about them, besides the fact that is very accessible since we’re neighbors from across the street. Where do I begin. My darling Mary Jane (MJ) terrier who is 14 years, woke up with an injured swollen eye. I contacted a few vets and all said they couldn’t take in that morning. I called Callusa Crossing and Maria was able to fit me in. I told her I needed to be back to work by 11:30am. From the moment I came they took MJ to the exam room and was greeted by Zack. He was very kind and came right down to MJ’s level to look at her eye. He listened and explained every step. Dr. Courtney was very gentle with Mj and explained her condition thoroughly to me. He made me feel comfortable and gave me a treatment plan. He gave me hope that MJ will heal. The center is so clean, they are all professional. Mj had a slight accident while they drew her blood and one of the young lady techs brought her to me cleaned up. They are all so caring and you can trust them. Finally found an excellent vet that I can trust and are reasonable and thorough in them examining MJ. If your looking for a caring, professional staff, clean environment, and they listen to you. Yes I was out of there just in time to get to work.

We had to put down one of our precious dogs recently and they were so supportive...didn't get a chance to thank them during that time. We have been patrons for close to 20 years now and we have never had bad service...love everyone there and appreciate their special care towards our dogs. Thank you again!
