I recently adopted my Golden Retriever from Ragom and the experience was fantastic. The staff was supportive, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the well-being of the animals. The adoption process was smooth, and they provided all the necessary information about my dog’s background and health. It’s clear that Ragom and their fosters go above and beyond to care for their animals and find them loving homes. I highly recommend this rescue to anyone looking to adopt a pet. Thank you, Ragom, for bringing my sweet girl into my life!
Love this rescue for blessing us with our beautiful golden girl! She has been the light of our lives. You all are so amazing and I appreciate your adoption process. We loved the foster home too, and still update them regularly with pictures! We are so grateful for you all!
We adopted our first dog Louie (who recently passed away) over 12 years ago, and decided to put in an application for another dog. Charlie came home a few days ago and is doing great! All of the volunteers/fosters were thorough and communicated in a timely manner. The process can be long, but I already knew that and like that. It gave me time to get to know the dog and know if he was going to fit in with my family. Thank you Ragom!!!
We had a great experience with RAGOM. Some of the reviews here are a bit harsh. While their requirements seem stringent, they’re willing to work with you if you’re patient and respectful to them. The truth is this organization cares so deeply about goldens to ensure all these surrendered dogs go to wonderful homes. We are soooooo in love with our dog, Odin, and had a pleasant experience with RAGOM!!
Great company to work with. The adoption process was very in depth, but relatively painless to go through. The fosters were so caring and kept us up to date with our boy and how he was progressing. I would absolutely work with them again when we're ready for another fur child!!!
We completed the application. They are demanding we provide all invoices from when we bought our dogs heartworm medication for the past 3 years. They are refusing to accept our vet’s word that we have been faithful in not only giving heartworm but taking excellent care of our pets, always making sure their needs are met. Our pets have all lived long and healthy lives. We have had 5 dogs over 35 years all living 14-17 years. Each has had extensive care throughout geriatric years. They refuse to discuss anything by phone and are snarky in their email responses. I am appalled they are hung up on this detail and will not take our vet’s word for it. They certainly can have records of our visits for 20 plus years. However they did not want to “have to sift through our records” themselves. Our vet ask that they call so he could clarify, and I was told they do not have time to make another call. That tells me a lot about their vetting process…. A stack of invoices is more important than actually talking to our vet to find out what kind of people we are. The invoices are not available due to changes in computer system. Now we have a broken hearted 14 year old daughter. 4 months later: We adopted our beautiful Oakley from As Good as Gold Rescue from Illinois. It was a completely different experience… so much better. They were wonderful and supportive throughout the process. Yes they talked to our vet and other references, and we had a home visit. We have continued to have support as Oakley transitioned. They have been so respectful to us…. So different from our experience at RAGOM. It is possible to be kind and respectful to potential adopters while looking out for the best interest of the pet.
