Description Wayward Whiskers is non-profit (501c-3), all volunteer animal rescue dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of abused, abandoned and neglected homeless cats and kittens and placing them in loving, permanent homes. We strive to provide educational and low/free veterinary programs to our community to help end animal suffering related to overpopulation. Wayward assists our community by providing free/low cost veterinary services and TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs to reduce overpopulation. Wayward Whiskers currently has over 100 cats and kittens available for adoption. all cats are current on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, FELV and FIV tested, microchipped, wormed and flea treated.
We had an incredibly frustrating experience with Wayward Whiskers’ adoption process. After submitting our adoption papers, we were left in the dark for over three weeks, despite our numerous attempts to connect through calls, emails, and even visits. When the cat cafe directed us to Wayward Whiskers for answers, we found it nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone. This lack of communication led us to seek another adoption center. If timely and transparent communication is a marker of reliability, Wayward Whiskers falls short. I would advise potential adopters to look elsewhere.
Super easy and fast adoption process. I applied to a kitten and I took him home 7 days later. Chowder loves his new home!
First and foremost, the cafe is adorable and an excellent place to go.... That's about it. I helped my boyfriend and his mom fill out an adoption form on September 11th for one of the kittens at the cat cafe. On the 21st (10 days later), they finally sent an email inquiring about their cats' vaccine history. On the 23rd, my boyfriend and I went to the cafe again and the kitten he wanted to adopt was gone and already found a home. The severe lack of communication is, in my opinion, extremely unprofessional. How can you take 10 days to communicate, and then adopt out the cat to someone else within two days??? At the very least, inform someone if the cat has multiple people looking to adopt him/her, or send those denied an email to let them know so they don't waste a week and a half waiting for an answer they'll never get. Definitely left a bad taste and won't be filling out applications with Wayward Whiskers in the future.
Super fun and clean cafe with great kitten and cat rooms! I scheduled a time to visit the cat and kitten rooms online on their website. I have only had positive experiences with Wayward Whiskers and the staff is caring and kind. I appreciate the work of the staff and volunteers that make rescues like this possible!
On Sunday Sept 12 2021 I inquired about a calico they had at the Pet Cafe here in Greensburg. By late Monday afternoon I got a response saying that the app was received and will go under review shortly. I had inquired about their rule of having the other animals vacs up to date and they said they do require that so I told them that I would get the other cat done this week. In the mean time they called my vet about the other cat but the vet had trouble looking it up since it was under my wifes name so I emailed the receipts and documentation for that particular cat and I received a Thank you! response within 2 minutes. Wednesday comes along and I get the other cat up to date and I email those documents over that evening. Friday comes along and I start looking for a different calico at a different shelter and after a brief exchange of emails, documents & phone calls, the cat was delivered to my home on Sunday! Here it is Wednesday the 22nd and I still have not heard a peep from Wayward Whiskers! The very least they could do it tell me that I am declined or something! Not professional at all. I understand that you are a volunteer organization but for gods sakes, how long does it take to compose a one line email? I will not be recommending them to anybody in the future - that's for sure.
Great way to adopt a homeless cat to be your forever friend. If you love cats but can't have one, visit the Catfinated Cat Cafe to love the cats waiting for adoption.
