After a terrible experience at Care Animal Hospital (yes, I know they are “related”), I moved my sweet fur babies to Maplewood and am the happiest I have ever been. Dr. Rebecca helped me keep my sweet Meika alive for far longer than any of us imagined after she got the horrid diagnosis of osteosarcoma. Once osteosarcoma is big enough to find, it’s generally all throughout the blood stream. We had no hope other than to keep my old girl happy and not in pain. She was diagnosed in November 2021, given a very short amount of time left, and sent home with great pain management and an even better plan. Meika just passed in January of this year and it’s due to the diligence, care, and compassion of all the staff at Maplewood 🩵 We kept her alive and comfortable and I got to enjoy so much more time with her. I love taking all my babies to Maplewood and will never go anywhere else!

I can’t say enough good things! On Friday I took my dog there (as a new patient) she was throwing up and lethargic. They did X-rays and said she had Pyometra. She needed an emergency hysterectomy right away. They explained the cost, offered to let me pay payments and did the surgery that day. Kept her all weekend, and Dr Andrew called with many updates and they even sent some pics. He personally monitored her all weekend. I picked her up Monday and she feels so much better! I will be going to him from now on:) Thank you!!

At around 5:30p last night, I noticed my sweet Charlie Magoo was straining to pee, and there was blood. I immediately called Maplewood. They were fully booked, but they said they could see him in the morning. About ten minutes later, they called and squeezed him in to be seen. We got there at 6:30p, 30 minutes before they closed. They were so gentle with my guy. They took time to make sure I understood everything. They didn’t rush. They stayed an extra 45 minutes over their time to ensure my baby was going to be okay. That means more to me than they will ever know. Took two stars away because I was told a medication was completely safe, and I watched as my boy deteriorated and then had to go be with Jesus. When I brought a new to me dog in, they didn’t want to discuss it and only said they added info to my chart regarding that drug. Very condescending. A lot more evidence is available now that this drug isn’t safe. I cannot in good conscience take my new dog back to them.
