This is our main ophthalmologist in the peninsula for our eye infection prone pug. Getting an appointment can be difficult, even in urgent cases BUT the staff is always willing to send a telephone report to their physicians and call back with next steps. Every time we call they ask a hundred questions to ensure they have the most detailed and accurate information to pass along to the doctors. (Thank you for being thorough!) We are currently traveling out of state and having a small eye issue with our dog - they are helping remotely and providing guidance. Thanks for all you do!
Oh, where do I even begin? Let me tell you about the most infuriating experience at Vision Care for Animals. I mean, come on! I took my ten-year-old pooch there because his eyes were getting cloudy—something any pet owner would worry about, right? After chatting with VetOnDemand, I thought I was prepared. But no, nothing could have prepared me for the fiasco that awaited. First, the receptionist had the warmth of a snowman in Alaska—just icy and unhelpful. And the office? It felt like being stuffed in a tiny closet, which only skyrocketed my anxiety levels. And don't even get me started on Dr. Patrick McCallum. The man was a whirlwind of vagueness, barely stopping to explain what was wrong with my beloved dog. Instead, he was all about pushing for big-ticket procedures like ACL Repairs and FHOs. Hey, Doc, how about we focus on the eyes before remodelling my dog's skeletal structure? The fees are Astronomical! And what do I get for handing over my hard-earned $250? Some eye drops and a mountain of frustration, that's what. Oh, and the cherry on top of this disaster sundae is the delayed diagnosis results that they only bothered to send via email. Really? In this modern age, we can't do better than that. The sweet young woman working at the front desk was the only ray of sunshine in that dreary place. It's disappointing when the only thing that seems to matter is lining their pockets. What happened to care and compassion in pet healthcare? I mean, seriously!
Prompt, friendly and clean. Our dog was well cared for.
Only good things to say. Our dog went through glaucoma over the course of 1.5 years, and the entire time everyone at Vision Care for Animals was great. They were responsive, made sure we had appointments, and fit us in promptly for surgery and emergencies.
Mr. Pickles, my 8-year-old, deer-headed chihuahua had cataracts in both eyes 😥 Unfortunately his right eye was too far gone, but they were able to completely fix his left. After he had surgery, he was able to see 👀 💯% again. We're both very happy!!! Thank you SO MUCH ❤️, Megan and Natalie Barry
My dog Spot likes to go after raccoons that come into the yard. He is a very outdoorsy cattle dog. They like to mix it up. Gets his eyes scratched and usually an infection from corneal abrasions. Vision Care for Animals is a godsend. A different Vet wanted to permanently sew the eye closed. Vision care saved his eye with expert treatment. Spot is a happy two eyed dog. Dr McCallum is fantastic. Can’t say enough good things. The BEST EYE VETERINARIAN!
